Description
The Texas Fashion Collection (TFC) is part of the College of Visual Arts & Deisgn at the University of North Texas (UNT) in Denton. The collection is housed on the UNT campus in Scoular Hall, adjacent to the University Union. The Texas Fashion Collection is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and documentation of historically significant fashion. The collection is an educational resource for students, researchers, and the general public. Open by appointment only.

The Texas Fashion Collection's generosity led to SMU's 2007 exhibit of "Balenciaga and His Legacy: Haute Couture from the Texas Fashion Collection." Docents at SMU said that the exhibit broke attendance records. I attended twice, and I just wish the TFC would leave UNT briefly and go on the road with this spectacular fashion exhibit. Texans should be proud and feel lucky to have had oil-heiress Claudia Heard Osborne donate her one-of-a kind Balenciaga gowns and dresses.
