Cops seemed to think there was validation enough in the bouncer's story to release him that night.

Bouncers addressing drunk people causing a disturbance? Sure sounds seedy to me...

Nope. Didn’t miss it at all.

I just think it's a little hard to claim self-defense when you are chasing the person you are defending yourself against.

You act as if being a bouncer makes you some sort of trained professional. I have to wonder how often that is really the case.

This whole thing stinks to high-heaven imo.

That's a pretty pompous approach to take, insinuating these guys randomly stab people simply because their owner doesn't measure up on your ethics meter.

All I'm saying is that I doubt ANYBODY is entirely innocent in this ordeal. Did you miss that this kid was threatening the bouncers with a box-cutter, actually cut one of them with it, and THEN got stabbed by the other? Sounds like self-defense to Doyle - it's not exactly a bouncer's nature to run away rather than confront attackers.

From Miko's linked article: Morales claimed he acted in self-defense.

Please read before instigating.

And um, just curious...Is there ever a good reason to stab someone in a dark alley? Other than self-defense, of course.

Seriously? What kind of people do you think this guy hangs out with? Sounds like a real stand-up guy to me – I’m sure he’s surrounded himself with stand-up guys. Birds of a feather…

I fail to see what that has to do with bouncers stabbing people for what these cats believe is no reason whatsoever.

Uh, Doyle, you might change your mind after reading this interesting little tid-bit about Tribeca's owner, Frank Carabetta...

If "Owner Frank" is the same person that kicked out a Bachelorette party of twenty on August 30th, then I have no problem believing he would condone such actions. This person, who claimed to be the owner, was completely belligerent, unprofessional, unsophisticated and verbally abusive to the patrons. We will certainly steer clear of Tribeca Bar and I urge everyone to do the same.

Homicide...in the sense that one person killed another? Sure, that's evident from the story.

As I said, I severely doubt these were random attacks by peeps who just happened to be bouncers. Obviously there was provocation, and having frequented Uptown...I severely doubt this was a case of bouncers RUNNING DOWN people simply for the hell of it.

Maybe I'm just a desensitized prick - simply doesn't add up, imo.

I want to start out by stating that this is Justin’s biological brother leaving this comment. Not a friend that considers Justin a brother, although he certainly had many. This has been evident by the large and diversified group of people who have celebrated his memory. I can't even begin to thank them for their support. The funeral director shared with us that Justin had one of the largest turnouts that he had witnessed. I know first hand that Justin would have been proud to know that so many cared for him.

Justin was a very sincere kid who loved nearly everybody he encountered and thrived on making people happy. His nickname was "SMILES" due to the simple fact that he was always a positive person to be around. The only time he was not smiling was when he was singing, and he had a remarkable gift for memorizing nearly every song he heard.

One of the other victims involved in this tragedy has been my best friend for over fifteen years. We are now in our mid-thirties; he is a successful man who manages a company that he has been with for nearly twenty years. He is a family man who often steps out of his own family circle and has been a big brother to not only my baby brother, but other kids who were in need of help and guidance. Over the last fifteen years, you were more likely to see him coaching a pee-wee team then visiting a bar. This man was nearly beat to death. Literally

It has been nearly three weeks since I lost my brother. This is the first time that I have had the strength to read through all the comments posted out there. After reading through the comments it's obvious that this has turned into a bias shouting match between friends and family of both parties involved and of course, curious stranger's who seem to have strong opinions about a story that has only presented a very limited amount of details.

One thing that I am certain of is that we could not be further away from the truth. I will not try to speculate about the truth, but rather rally with the rest of the survivors, friends and family on our quest for justice. This requires the assistance of a professional trained to gather accurate information.

They say there are two sides to every story, and then there is the truth. Please help us fund the journey to the truth by donating to the “Justice for Justin Fund.” I challenge anyone who has followed this story to help us find out what really happened, whatever the outcome…..

Ways to donate:

• Visit the Mesquite branch & donate to The Justin Turner Justice Fund.

• You may write a check or send a money order made to the Justin Turner Justice Fund & mail it to the bank.

Justin was a victim of a homicide- no matter how it is sliced and diced. No one in the press is even mentioning the two other friends who were beaten and stomped to near death nearby while Justin was being stabbed. One of whom had his head cracked open and had a concussion.

Just because a newspaper released an article without checking all facts or talking to ANYONE in Justin's camp, does not mean that all is factual...now everyone has interests to protect and a side to defend- understandably...but all things, in turn, will come to light.

The story that is being published isn't adding up...the murder happened quiet some distance from the door of the club- down a side alley...these bouncers had to have chased this kid and his friends down the alley..in self-defense??? I think these bouncers were looking for a fight and one presented itself...

PN ran a story on this same day, and my question reamins unanswered.

Obviously my only knowledge on this is what I read in the press, but I SEVERELY doubt a bouncer would go so far as to stab somebody (much less a kid who is 100 pounds soaking wet) without good reason.

If dude's still waving a blade after having already cut someone, he didn't leave the bouncer much choice.

A bouncer's job is to protect all four corners of a bar...the murder took place 230 feet from the bar's door down a dark alley- which would mean they had to chase him down the alley....how does that constitute self-defense? Especially against a kid who is 100 pounds soaking wet? A second victim was beat to near death nearby. His head was split open and he was knocked unconscious because they kicked his head in.The owner of the club, Frank, was outside as well and did NOTHING to stop it.

A story we missed, although FOX4's report makes it sound like the man pulled a box cutter first:

A young kid was stabbed to death outside Tribecca two weeks ago by the bouncers of the club. They jumped the poor kid!
