Wales Manor Vineyard was established by John Wales in 1999 as the first commercial vineyard in Collin County. The three acre clay and limestone vineyard is used exclusively to produce cabernet sauvignon and rose wines. In 2003, Wales Manor Winery was formed as the first commercial winery in Collin County. Also in 2003, the owners of Wales Manor and the Triple ’R’ Ranch winery joined forces to form Lone Star Wine Cellars to market their wines. Hours vary by season, although the winery is always open on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Information from the winery's site
