I'm originally from Chicago and have lived in the DFW area since 85' - I've tried many places claiming to be traditional Chicago style resturants and I have to say I wasn't real impressed here. The Italian Beef sandwich was good and a little close to what is back home, but still missed the target totally... if you want true Chicago Italian Beef it has to be Vienna Beef and Gonella Bread with the right Aus Jus!!

I may or may not go back if I'm in the area, but won't give it the hype of being a true chicago place.

Posted from mobile Dan Weinberger has really hit it out the park. Sandwhiches ranging from your basic ham and cheese to specials such as the grapevine dirty dozen. A great meal

A great find in downtown Grapevine! After a full day of house-hunting in the 'burbs, my wife and I popped by Weinberger's for an authentic Chicago deli experience... and we weren't disappointed. I had the Italian beef sandwich, wet and hot. Very messy, but also very tasty. My wife's "Packer Backer" dog (all beef dog, mustard and cheese) was meaty and perfect. Top it all off with a black cherry soda for a meal that can't be beaten.
