Just because Wood Pit owners Ann and Pete Nikolopoulos are Greek doesn’t mean they have to make dolmas. This original branch opened on Scyene Road in 1979; sons Jimmy and Sam run a second branch on East Davis Street that opened in late 2006. Both serve the same hickory-smoked steaks, chicken, ribs, beef, ham, and sausage (from Rudolph’s), plus signature house-made potato salad and garlicky cole slaw.

The kitchen is always open during business hours.
