Some graffiti is notable for its artistic merit. Others, such as these scribblings tacked to exit 4B on North Central Expressway, are of interest for the "why/how the hell would you do this?" factor.

Wonder if anyone noticed the artist scrabbling up there.

Why?
Attention. Notoriety

Well you would think that if it were for attention and notoriety it would at least be legible. Seems like a bunch of nothing to risk life and limb for.

Sign got up there somehow - bet they just had access to a boom truck. Rock an orange vest and a hard-hat, doubt anybody would be wise to it.

Again, if you’re going to go to all that trouble, shouldn’t you take that opportunity to really say something - make some sort of meaningful statement?

I bet an astronaut scratched "[NAME] WUZ HERE" in the moon dust.
This is the same thing, but VYNER3M is an underachiever.

Believe it or not this tag got him alot of credit in the Graff World. I'm pretty sure he did not put it out there for an every day Joe on his way to work to notice it. They tag around to show other graff artist what they can do and where they can do it.

After close study of a highway sign, I have come to the conclusion that he would have had to stand on the back of the sign and reach over, painting upside-down and backwards, which would automatically give him a pass for the sloppy penmanship – er…paintmanship.
I really need to get a life.

Yeah, he definitely gets an B+ for location and an A for difficulty (with bonus points considering it's a high-traffic area), but I'm not giving him anything more than a D+ for artistic skill.

I agree with that rating Pavel

Damn you all, why is it so farfetched that he had access to a boom truck?
Ain't high traffic all the time, and if you've got a boom truck out there in the very early morning cop probably thinks it's routine maintenance.

I'm beginning to think this was Doyle's handywork. A message, perhaps, from his new grandmother to the government? Extraterrestrials? China?
