DALLAS Dallas Fish Market has finally unlocked the doors and will be open for dinner. Ta-da.
Located in the space in the Kirby building that used to be Jeroboam, the Market has been threatening to open for at least 8 months.
Executive Chef is Randy Morgan whose menu includes Maine Lobster Corn Chowder; sautéed New England skate wing (hnh, is there such a thing as "New England skate"?) with Tuscan white bean ragout and Meyer lemon buerre blanc; grilled wild salmon with house-made Spanish chorizo, heirloom tomatoes, roasted garlic risotto, and crispy leeks; and black truffle-wrapped Chilean sea bass, with caramelized onion mashers (can't they just say mashed potatoes?), Rainier cherry gastrique, lobster mushrooms, and armagnac. There's also something called "modern sushi" that includes Nairagi Tataki, Tasmanian Salmon and Kona Kampachi.
The wine cellar was selected by wine director George Calderon, and there are signature cocktails such as kafir lime lemonade martini, lemongrass mojito, and berry bellini.
The restaurant will begin serving lunch in early September.
Dallas Fish Market is part of the Dallas Restaurant Group, which also operates Go Fish and Fish Express.

GWAR / Kingdom of Sorrow / Toxic Holocaust Only lead singer Oderus Urungus (aka Dave Brockie) has stuck around since GWAR's start 23 years ago, but the huge costumes, raunchy and obscene lyrics, and fluids spraying into the audience are sure to be on full display as the metal band makes its return to Dallas. Dallas needs another fish restaurant like it needs a hole in the head. What would be an addition to the local food scene is a very good fish market (i.e. purveyor).

I much prefer "ancient sushi," like kæstur hákarl or lutefisk.

once again, I recomend the sushi at Hook Line and Sinker, breaded fried, with killer hushpuppies and a beer. fine.

1) Hopefully they've worked out the kitchen issues 2) Somehow I don't see this place solving the Great Sushi Crisis.

Global warming will solve the Great Sushi Crisis by melting the polar ice caps and bringing the bounty of the sea to our doorstep.
