Arlington police are searching for whatever heartless asshole set fire to a three-year-old Pomeranian in Arlington. Police found the remains of the dog, Spike, early Saturday morning. He had been apparently doused with gasoline and lit on fire.
UPDATE: Police now believe that Spike was hit by a car and lay dead in the owner's front yard when an intoxicated Adam Scott Pigue, 26, spotted the animal. He decided to dispose of the dog's body by burning it. He is being charged with four misdemeanors, including improper disposal of a dead animal and negligent burning. Since the animal was determined dead before burning, he will not be charged with animal cruelty. He is a however rewarded with Pegasus News' "I don't care how drunk you were, you're still an ass" award.

In the universe I lived in, the dog was maybe hit by a car, and the perps lit it on fire post mortem to cover up the evidence.
My universe is a nice place to live. :(

OK, yeah. I could go with that story too. I hope that whichever way it happened, the doggie didn't suffer.

Oh my God, the mohawked one is prescient. Or he simply thinks in the same way a drunk dog-killer does.

Incidentally, I can't wait until I get that award. I hope there's actually some sort of medal that I can wear proudly ... to my probation hearing.
