Dirk had a field day against the under-manned Bucks
DALLAS — The Dallas Mavericks easily defeated a depleted Milwaukee Bucks team Wednesday night, using Dirk Nowitzki's first-ever triple-double to beat the Bucks 107-96 at the AAC. It was the first time in Nowitzki's career he had ever recorded double digits in assists.
Dirk finished the game with 29 points, ten rebounds and 12 assists, most of which came when the Bucks double-teamed Nowitzki in the post. Most of the assists were to wide-open teammates Josh Howard (17 points, 8 boards) and Jason Terry (23 points).
The Mavs were once again without Devin Harris and Jerry Stackhouse, but played against a Bucks team missing it's top scorer in Michael Redd. Harris was partially replaced by J.J. Barea, who provided a spark in a rare start with 13 points of 6-of-10 shooting.
The win improved the Mavericks to 33-15, just a half game behind Western Conference leader Phoenix and tied with New Orleans for the Southwest Division lead.
