Blue Shoe Project’s Last of the Great Mississippi Bluesmen wins Grammy

DALLAS — Last of the Great Mississippi Delta Bluesmen: Live in Dallas from The Blue Shoe Project, the local nonprofit organization founded to bring the blues to classrooms across Texas, won a Grammy on Sunday for "best traditional blues album".
Last of the Great Mississippi Bluesmen was recorded at the Majestic Theater in 2004, and features performances by Robert Lockwood, Jr., Joe Willie "Pinetop" Perkins, David "Honeyboy" Edwards, and Henry James Townsend.
It was the Blue Shoe Project’s first Grammy nomination.
"Blue Shoe Mike" Dyson, who attended the awards ceremony at the Staples Center In Los Angeles with his father Jeffry, told the Fort Worth Star Telegram's Preston Jones, "We are ecstatic."
