— Icon Partners, L.L.C. announced plans to develop The Shops At Mercer Crossing, a new 500,000 square foot upscale value fashion center to be located in Mercer Crossing, a 1,100-acre master-planned development at the intersection of I-635/LBJ Freeway and Luna Road in Farmers Branch.

"The announcement of The Shops At Mercer Crossing is a great day for Farmers Branch," stated Farmers Branch Mayor Pro Tem Tim O'Hare. "This is the kind of world class development that will bring excitement, money, energy and people from all over to visit Farmers Branch."

"We know Icon Partners to be a strong and creative developer who is committed to building great places and we are thrilled to work with them to bring this one-of-a-kind fashion center to our area," O'Hare continued. "On behalf of the Mayor and City Council, I express our great enthusiasm and optimism for this project because our residents have been longing to be part of high quality development like this for a very long time."

The first phase of The Shops At Mercer Crossing will be built as a Mediterranean-inspired, lakefront town center. It will feature plazas, gazebos, parks, fountains, walking trails and a lake that will form the core of Mercer Crossing. The Shops At Mercer Crossing will feature an unparalleled collection of value priced couture, designer, and popular brands. Although Icon representatives are not disclosing which brands will be at The Shops At Mercer Crossing, similar centers in North America and Europe include a selection of the very finest premier luxury brands straight from the fashion runways of Milan, Paris, and New York.

"The retailers who have chosen to be a part of The Shops At Mercer Crossing are known worldwide for their leadership in the fashion industry and are excited to be a part of Icon's new concept that goes far beyond the traditional outlet shopping experience," noted Daniel Robinowitz, Chairman of Icon Partners.

"The Shops At Mercer Crossing will be a one-of-a-kind, world class fashion center modeled after several highly successful value centers in Europe," said James Elkus, Vice President of Development. "Just as these unique centers in the U.K., Italy and France have become some of the largest tourist attractions in their countries, The Shops At Mercer Crossing will become one of Dallas's most popular tourist attractions. As the retail component of a 1,100 acre master planned environment that combines an impressive collection of upscale fashion retailers with places to live, play, stay, and work, The Shops At Mercer Crossing will attract brand conscious, quality-oriented shoppers who live in or visit the DFW Metroplex."

Icon already has a bunch of office and apartment buildings in development for the Mercer Crossing site.
