DESOTO DeSoto is getting a brand new option for travelers with a Marriott TownePlace Suites coming to Highway 67 and Wheatland Rd.
A groundbreaking for the new hotel was held on Friday, March 28.
The hotel will be comprised of 100 suites with kitchenettes designed for extended stay travelers. It will offer 2,000 square feet of meeting/recreational space, an indoor pool, and a spa. The hotel will also offer a limited continental breakfast and on-premises guest laundry services to its guests.
And of course the new development will be a boon to the city’s tax rolls. The estimated taxable value, according to the “construction value” on the building permit filed with the DeSoto Building Inspection Department, is $3 million.
Marriott International is one of the world’s largest and most well-known hotel chains with 3,000 lodging properties in the U.S. and 67 other countries and territories. Marriott describes as a mid-priced, extended-stay brand that provides all the conveniences of home in a residential atmosphere.
