Jones' ghosts had chased him into a corner

— According to this story on the Dallas Cowboy's official website, it appears a trade for troubled-but-talented cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones is all but completed. The Tennessee Titans appear to have agreed to trade him "in principle", although the exact details are unknown.

The Cowboys were in desperation mode for most of the offseason after losing several defensive backs in free agency, and any possible Jones signing would save them the trouble of acquiring a cornerback in the upcoming NFL draft. The Cowboys have two #1 picks in this weekend's draft, but would obviously prefer proven talent to unproven ability.

Jones, currently suspended by the NFL for a variety of off-field activities, may not even be eligible to play in 2008. The upside for Jones is his amazing cover ability and even more impressive kick return explosiveness. The Cowboys were sorely lacking on both those areas since the mid-90s.
