Three contenders; two chairs

Residents of the City of Parker voted on Sat. (May 10) to elect a new mayor (to replace outgoing alcalde Jerry Tartaglino) and two at-large city councilpersons.

Running for mayor were Joe Cordina and Jim Threadgill; vying for the council seats were Scott Levine, Eleanor Evans and James Clay, engaging in a crazy game of vote-counting musical chairs to determine which one amongst them will end up seatless at the end of the evening. (That would be the one garnering the least votes.)

AND THE WINNERS: Cordina defeats Threadgill for Mayor, by a total of 360 votes to 340 (51% to 49%). The two council seats were won by Eleanor Evans (garnering 463 votes or 42% of the total) and Scott Levine (who dragged down 372 votes or 33% of total), with James Clay coming in third with 278 votes (25% of total).

Ghostland Observatory Yes, they play here a lot because they are from Austin. No, that doesn't mean you can't see them again. Of course they will be back, but is that any excuse to not check out what some call the best live act this side of I-10? Didn't think so. "image by: Dániel Perlaky" '06 More info
