Dallas City Council approves purchase of land for Convention Center Hotel

DALLAS — After postponing the initially scheduled vote, the Dallas City Council Wednesday realized its dreams of building a convention center hotel. Council members approved the $42 million purchase of land at Lamar and Young Streets by a vote of 11-2.

John, according to Dallas Progress, the two dissenting votes were from Angela Hunt and Vonciel Jones Hill, with Elba Garcia and Mitchell Rasansky not voting due to conflicts.

It's funny you bring up Chicago. I have always thought the convention center hotel will become the next Cabrini-Green. There is absolutely no demand as a hotel so it's just a matter of time before "Hotel Leppart" becomes "Public Housing Project Leppart".

I'll assume those points were for me Catherine.
So if they want warmer, why not Phoenix?
And cheaper airfare from where? Not the major population centers of the east coast.
I still don't see where conventioneers are going to go? Can ya help me with that?
