$4.93 billion approval brings the power of wind to North Texas

Hello, beautiful.
According to Texas Public Utility Commissioner Paul Hudson, Texas will soon produce more wind megawatts than the next 14 highest wind-producing states combined. This comes after the Texas PUC approved a $4.93 billion plan to build transmission lines piping wind energy from West Texas to North and Central Texas.
The commission has been working on this project for three years now and was presented with five plans for the transmission lines. They decided on a middle ground plan that excludes building as far as South Texas. The next step is to figure out who builds the lines, which could be in place as soon as 2012.

Anyone else appalled that Pavel drives with a camera out? (ok, ok, it's your almighty iPhone - but I'll bet you texted it to Scott before the next exit.)

iPhone can obv send MMS texts, but not photo texts. Your true fault was assuming Pavel owns an iPhone to begin with. =p
Pavel's a freak who damn near always has his regular camera on him. He told me about this, but I hadn't seen pics until just now.
Someone needs to hit up 972-542-2601 for some ad monies, imo - advertising in this thread.

Whew! My genuine first impression was "What a great shot! Where's the glare? Where's the fisheye/barrel those crappy phones always have?"
My second, and more lasting impression, "and mo motion blur as he speeds along ....AAARRGH!! that idiot!"
Overall, my world view is less threatened knowing this. Even the idea of Pavel driving one-handed and not watching traffic is less threatening than conceding the iPhone's dread coolness to Scott.

This is great news for Texas, great news for the energy independence movement. You see, Texas doesn't have to present a large US city trapped in the 1800's!
It helped to have a T Boones Pickens around so I retract 20% of what I said about T :-)
