Some exciting news for DFW film buffs, film critics, film students, and everyone else. In the vein of the up-coming AFI Film Festival in Dallas comes news of Fort Worth's own forthcoming festival—a three-day, popcorn-fueled, ass-chaffing experience.

The Lone Star Film Society, in association with Fort Worth Sister Cities International, announces the launch of the Lone Star International Film Festival, which will be held from November 8th-11th, 2007.

Here's a YouTube link to the actual press announcement of the festival, which features Houston-resident and Tony-award winning actress, Phylicia Rashad, best known as Clair Huxtable from the Cosby show. Good to know she's on board.

Click here for a trailer foreboding the coming of the festival. As you watch, count the number of different people wearing cowboy hats and post your count below. Whoever comes closest to my observed total can join me in my confusion regarding whether or not people in Fort Worth really wear this many cowboy hats.
