Formed as Tim DeLaughter dealt with the death of his Tripping Daisy bandmate Wes Berggren, The Polyphonic Spree is as much an expression of joy as it is a band. Literally unlike anything you've seen before, the band features more than twenty people clad in choir robes, performing lush orchestrations of songs whose meaning you may not grasp intellectually, but that you'll get at a much more visceral level.
The band has been featured in VW commercials and film soundtracks and performed at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony in 2004.
The Polyphonic Spree puts on an annual holiday extravagaza that has grown large enough to fill Nokia Live. They tour constantly, and have now spawned myriad side projects by various members of the group.
