It tells the story of Porgy, a crippled black man living in the slums of Charleston, South Carolina, and his attempts to free Bess from the clutches of her drug-dealing pimp. This controversial, poignant drama features back-street gambling, deaths by hurricane, ominous buzzards, and achingly beautiful spirituals, creating a spectacular evening that will linger in your memory.
