Description

This will be the fourth installment in which we present “Teatro Breve” a curious form of Spanish Drama that dates back to the middle ages. All the plays are presented in English, and they all have one thing in common: someone dies!

This year’s show includes selections of some of the most sensational plays done over the last several years, some of which are: the agonizingly morbid “Lament of Ignacio Sanchez Mejía” by Federico García Lorca, “Floor 13” which is the most popular of the black comedy “13” plays by Alejandro de la Costa, the brutal “Father and Mother” by Agustín Barrios in which child’s play leads to unspeakable horrors, and the play that caused the greatest sensation by terrifying audiences and critics alike when it first premiered, Mark-Brian Sonna’s “Killing Thomas.”

This show is not intended for minors due to the intense subject matter and violence. Purchase tickets online or by calling 214-477-4942.

West Fest Polka Festival Westfest kicks off the weekend Friday evening with the Miss Westfest Contest. Gates to the fairground (in West, Texas, south on I-35 just beyond Hillsboro) open at 5:30 p.m., and you can hang out touring the food booths until the 12:30 a.m. closing. If there was ever a place to do your "wurst," this is it. And don't forget kolaches for dessert. More info
