The Trains exhibit has become a local holiday tradition since it began in 1987. Chugging on 2,500 feet of winding track, the exhibit is the most elaborate toy train exhibit in Texas, with vintage locomotives whizzing on a journey across America, past miniature national landmarks including Mount Rushmore, Dallas’ skyline, New York City’s Times Square, and Washington, D.C. The exhibit includes more than 40 Lionel-type O-Gauge and the larger G-Gauge locomotives. The exhibit will be on display from Saturday November 17 through Tuesday January 1. Hours and times are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Sunday, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The early closing dates are as follows: November 21, Thanksgiving Eve, at 6 p.m.; December 24, Christmas Eve, at 4 p.m.; December 31, New Year’s Eve, at 6 p.m. January 1, New Year’s Day, at 6 p.m. The exhibit will be closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Days, but it will be open on New Year’s Day. The cost is $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for children (ages 2 to 12) and senior citizens (65 and older). Children under 2 admitted free.
