The Dallas Symphony Orchestra performance has been moved to the Meyerson at 3 p.m. due to a forecast of rain.

Celebrating its 23rd anniversary, the Turtle Creek Association presents Easter in the Park featuring the hilarious Pooch Parade and Costume Contest at 1 p.m., followed by a live concert of light classics and pop favorites by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra at 3 p.m. The event kicks off at 11 a.m. with the Pooch Parade registration and continues till 5 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Guests are invited to bring picnic lunches or may dine on a wide variety of “State-Fair-type” foods, such as corn dogs and funnel cakes.

The event benefits beautification projects in the Turtle Creek area.

Registration begins at 11 a.m. for the Pooch Parade and Costume Contest, which costs $10 per dog per category: “Best Big Dog,” “Best Little Dog,” “Best Dressed Dog” and “Best Owner/Pet Look-A-Like Dog.” The festivities officially kick off at 12:45 p.m. with the SPCA of Dallas’ “Parade of Adoptable Dogs.”
