The official Palladium word via email is:

"Do to unforeseen circumstances; the Cat Power performance at the Palladium Ballroom on April 19th has been postponed. A new date will be announced at a later time. Tickets for the original April 19th performance will be honored on the new date. Refunds through Ticketmaster will be available at all points of purchase starting tomorrow at 10:00am. Visit http://ticketmaster.com or call 214-373-8000 for ticket information."

No word yet on what the actual reschedule date is, but at least this confirms that one is expected.

She probably had a nervous breakdown. Chan Marshall is nuts. For reals.

Looks like a long stretch of shows cancelled and a lot of heat on her MySpace page:

Cat Power is a nut, plain and simple. Shes pulled this same BS before and seems that her "international" shows, as well as her east/west events look fine.

It looks like this'll be on Thursday the 9th and not the 8th as currently listed above:

Here's hoping it actually happens this time.

Laurie Anderson Laurie Anderson is indescribably delicious. She's hitting McFarlin tonight with her new show, Homeland, and you can bet it will contain intellectual stimulation and pure unadulterated weirdness in equal measure. An album will follow the Homeland tour in 2009. More info
