How dare you, Alex Bentley, with your sarcastic event description. Do you not know, sir, that there are endless, endless high school and junior high school students for whom Eve 6's "Here's To The Night" brilliantly and completely captures the modern teenage experience, and that maybe they all huddled in the parking lot one last time to sing its lyrics and cried in the rain?

Not since "Closing Time" has a song so eloquently expressed the rolle--wait, that's Semisonic. OK. Yeah they're a lot better.

alex, i also take issue with your lumping in Loverboy, one of Canada's many gifts to the US of A. i'm not 100% sure who's in the band these days - maybe the guitar player, maybe the singer. the point is, everybody's working for the weekend.

meanwhile on saturday who else is gonna be front row and center for BRET MICHAELS?!

Teresa, all original members of Loverboy except bassist Scott Smith, who tragically died in a boating accident of the coast of California back in 2000. Ken "Spider" Sinnaeve is Loverboy's bassist.

Loverboy was -- and still is -- a terrific band. I saw them a coupla years ago at Smirnoff and they were great. Mike's vocals have held up well - he can still pull off that looooooong screech in "Turn Me Loose."

Talk about bands from the past that can still bring it...ZEBRA ("Tell Me What You Want", "Who's Behind The Door?", "Wait Until The Summer's Gone", etc.)...

They will be performing at the Rocklahoma Festival in Pryor, OK on Sunday, July 13. I will be working on booking them here in Dallas sometime later this year.

My first concert was Loverboy, with Joan Jett opening. And, yes, Robert, I was lovin' every minute of it.

It was at the Tulsa Convention Center, 1983, the Get Lucky tour. Snuck down to 8th row with Dianne Snyder and Kim Johnson. So in love with them both. They ended up ditching me and meeting up with two other guys. But, ...

Hey. Come to think of it, I effing HATE Loverboy.

I gotta tell ya, I went up there for Eve 6 and Everclear, and neither band disappointed. Eve 6 is definetely in the mid to top tier of the so cal punk pop- I think their lyrics are spectacular. "Your heinous highness broke her hymen, hey man, try to quit your crying I know she broke your heart, but try to calm, try to calm down... " Really, it just exudes sing along anthem.

Everclear is a fun band, kind of a one trick pony, but Art Alexakis is a true showman. All of his great tunes plus a little "Brown Eyed Girl" solo, Hall and Oates callback with "Rich Girl" and finale with a ton of kids onstage singing along to "867-5309 Jenny". Hell, they probably thought it was his song. And for a suburban pop festival stage, thats OK.
