My salads are made with locally grown and organic produce when possible. All of my dressings are made in house using the highest quality ingredients available. My soups are made from scratch daily (opting for fresh ingredients rather than cream to flavor them). And, in an attempt to offer you the healthiest meal possible, I purposely minimize the amount of mayonnaise in my dressings, bake a piece of healthy bread each day, and offer only one type of delicious cookie so that those of us who are easily tempted won't go overboard.
Research has proven that eating fruits and vegetables lowers the risk for certain cancers (mouth, lung, prostate, and colon), stroke, heart disease, obesity, and high blood pressure. I'm not saying that eating a salad will make you fit overnight, but it sure does seem like a small investment to make towards a healthier life.
