I remember when the station and the warehouse were built in 1931 and the old station on the other side of main street was torn down. My dad was a Pullman porter and went in and out of the station at least three times a week. He worked on the MKT's Texas Special. I knew men who worked on the construction of both buildings (all dead now). I worked in the warehouse's cold storage section in 1940.I rode the T&P's Sunshine Special to El Paso in the late 1940's when a steam engine still pulled the train.
