African American Legal Association responds to Hispanic community leader's racial comments

RUSSJFK, this is my last post on this issue... MLK did not "PLAN" to die! He ACCEPTED" that eventually, all of the death threats and "bombings" would claim his life! HE "ACCEPTED" THAT! I will not respond to your idiocy in trying to rationalize. Blacks grow-up studying MLK and understand his plight, even share it! You cannot convince me or any other African American that MLK didn't "ACCEPT" his destiny! Hence him referring to "not making it to the mountaintop!" He "ACCEPTED" it! How the hell can you "PLAN" your assassination? That's assinine!

RUUSJFK, he didn't plan to die, but expected to die. You need to read the books written on him. He KNEW he was gonna die for his cause. He embraced this as his destiny, thus he gave his life for civil rights. For you to idiotically rationalize otherwise is commensurate to blasphemy. Ask President Bill Clinton if MLK gave his life for civil rights.

"grampa had the cushy coal mine job."

Moron, was "grampa" whipped, castrated, lynched, burned alive, stoned, pulled apart by horses or oxen, raped, eyes gouged out, impaled, decapitated, amputated, separated from family etc?

You're exactly right, "Grampa had the cushy coal mine job." Bet he even received pay for that "cushy coal mine job."

    You're a glutton for punishment...

    In regards to inventions:

We won't speak on how many other inventions were either stolen (via murder), bought for dollars, or extorted...

Says 20% African American here! You're selling dehydrated water! ;) The diatribe you speak of is simply the facts! Like I said, visit your local library, google the internet, watch Roots, Rosewood, Men of Honor, Glory Road, Panthers, Amistad, The Tuskegee Airman, etc... Too many to name... Where are the docu-dramas or movies depicting the significance of other immigrant's contributions to America? Many Immigrants contributed, but not to the level of my race. That's why people fell to their knees when Barack Obama was elected as my Commander-In-Chief-elect, as did I... That's why even WHITE America is even astounded at the significance of this milestone, and were touched. As CNN reported during the moment, "Centuries for a race of people that arguably have done more in establishing this great country than any other!" And this was a white reporter! Righteous! Never voted for Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton, but would die for Colin Powell or Barack Obama... Was gonna retire at 26, but will now dedicate my life to securing my country for at least President-elect Obama's first term...which will put me at 30...

    You're full of it...

Jason Rice, in ref to: "There are some Chinese kids that could drink you personally under the table and a load of Vietnamese that might give you a run for your money."

I doubt that at all! If you go to your local library or google the internet, you'll find more information proving that African Americans did MORE in building America than any other immigrant. Without question... Were the Chinese or Vietnamese captured and forced to undergo super-humen, sometimes fatal work ethic? The white indentured servants proved to lack the strength and endurance, the Native Americans refused to be enlslaved, thus enter the African American... Oh, and I failed to mention all of the significant "inventions" created by African Americans...many of them stolen or swindled for pennies.

Being in the U.S. Armed Forces, we get the demographics every year, and as I stated, African Americans make up more than their 14% American citizenry. Even though, as CNN Black in America proved, a white felon having served jail time will get the employment nod before an African Americaqn with 2 degrees...

All I'm saying is this, don't try to denegrate what we've done to make this country successful, and I've operated in or transited over 55 countries and no other compares, however, we're still no utopia, but probably the best thing going on this planet...

RUSSJFK, I find something wrong with your post in that MLK didn't fight for the rights of African Americans only. He/They fought for the Civil Rights of ALL people of color! That's why he was an incrdible American that deserved such recognition. HE GAVE HIS LIFE FOR WHAT HE BELIEVED IN! I'm sorry, but it's hard to top that! And if Ms. Callefo (sic) can't understand that, she's senile...

Sir, how can I get this forwarded to Mrs. Callejo?

I really take offense to the ascertion that Mrs. Callejo stated "Blacks did nothing for Hispanics!" If she thinks ANYONE has done more for America than African Americans, she's an idiot.
    Lets start from the beginning:

Few can imagine the atrocity that Africans endured on the slave ships. The filth, the stench, the loss of life, the disease, the packing of men in spaces so tight they could neither turn, nor stand, nor squat, nor sit is beyond human comprehension. For fifty days or more at a time, per voyage, our ancestors were tortured. Tight packers herded as many Africans aboard as possible, arguing that net receipts from sales of slaves would off-set the number that died. Loose packers preferred to give their captives "breathing room", trusting that more would survive the journey under sanitary conditions. So great was the profit from the sale of the enslaved that most European captains filled their vessels to the top, adding a second platform, if necessary, barely twenty inches above the heads of those below, to accommodate more. Crammed in suffocating heat, held fast by chains bolted to the floor, forced to lie in their own waste, breathing air rancid with vomit, disease, and sickness. There amid huge rats that gnawed through wood and flesh, men went mad. There on floors covered with blood and excrement, pregnant women gave birth. There the living awoke, chained to the dead. The daily routine brought little relief. Mashed horse beans pounded to a pulp and served with slabber sauce, a mixture of flour, palm oil, and water twice a day. Next came the dancing of the slaves, a cruel form of exercise and amusement conducted by slave captains to keep their human captives in salable condition. After a few hours, they were again forced back into the hell below. It was this journey that brought millions of us to America, the West Indies, South America, and countries of Europe. 50 to 200 million have been estimated as dying in transport alone. No other race ever on Earth has survived the atrocities we did. Not the Jews, no one.

When we finally did arrive in America, they put tar on our wounds and oiled us down to make us pretty and shiny so that we netted max dollar at slave auctions. Did I mention they also divided families up and sold them to whoever? Now we've been sold and are now on the plantations. They strapped a plow on us and worked us like ox or cattle or horses. Unintentionally, they made us as strong as ox by working us like ox and feeding us the unwanted parts of pig, horses, etc... And unfortunately, many died from the fatal work-ethic forced upon us.

How dare you live in the country who's foundation (the textiles that my ancestor slaves produced...the cotton, the crops, etc...) was built by African Americans and say that Blacks never did anything for Hispanics. Where were you when Blacks built America? Where were you when they died for civil rights? Where were you when they were protecting America in disproportionate numbers?

What have Hispanics done for America? Did they stand with us during the battle for Civil Rights, giving their lives such as Martin Luthor King and many others did? I don't think so. But you think that you've done more for America than the African American? The U.S. Armed Forces are disproportionately African American. Please list the significant contributions provided by the Hispanics? When you see a African American in the U.S., please know that unlike the Hispanics, and other non-blacks, the African American race was created about 400 years ago right here by our white ancestors. We've been here in huge numbers from the get-go, only proceeded by the Native Americans. And a huge number of African Americans mated with the Native Americans, so their blood runs in a large number of us also, as does the blood of our white ancestors because they raped our slave ancestors. When you see an African American, know that they have been here since the 1600s.

And the only reason Hispanics outnumber us now is because our reproduction rate cannot keep up with the rate of illegals entering the U.S. The country WE built! That cake has already been baked, and we baked it! You can put a candle on it if you like, however, that cake is and has been done well before you even heard the name America... Watch "ROOTS!" That's the "G" rated version of what I've explained to you. Please take your unfounded BS and go back to Mexico! Leave America until you realize that the African American contributions to making this country great cannot be surpassed or even minutely compared, much less mentioned by your racist behind... Mucho gracias! BTW, I'm elated that my Commander-In-Chief-elect is a member of the race that built the greatest country ever. Even prouder that White Americans, along with Hispanics made it possible for Barack Obama to be elected President. I have nothing against Hispanics, just your racist behind!!!
