"Ode to a Niece" - by Me<br><br> I'm a Christian<br> But I must have my guns <br><br> The bible commands, “Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.”<br> But I have no charity in my heart whatsoever. <br><br> I'm patriotic <br> But cheer at the idea of Texas secession from the USA <br><br> I'm a conservative <br> But believe government should regulate women's reproductive decisions <br><br> Jesus warns, “Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven"<br> And yet oblivious to my hypocrisy I judge and so will be judged; I condemn and so will be condemned; I am unforgiving and yet will not be forgiven. <br><br> And Jesus commanded, "show kindness and mercy to one another", "but they refused to pay attention and turned a stubborn shoulder and stopped their ears that they might not hear."<br> And yet I am merciless and without kindness and refuse to live as Jesus. <br><br> I have an aunt who loved me, was surrounded by ignorant rednecks, was in real pain, and saw no other way to find relief other than death, and yet I think she was an icky dyke. <br> And just so a bunch of strangers on some anonymous comment bulletin board don't think I'm an icky dyke I mention I didn't approve of her. <br><br> Sweetheart, we live in a sick world. And you're part of the problem. I'll pray for you :)
