Keller mom Melissa d'Arabian of Next Food Network Star is no longer a Keller mom
Awesome stuff, TG with your usual snuffs of indignancy... ;-)
I'm shocked, just shocked, that a reality show has been shocked by... REALITY! The indignancy and pain of it all. Pretty soon, will we see food blogs actually talking about food instead of thanking places for free burgers, foi gras, pizza and ice cream?
Will she dump her husband now that she's up there because she's in love with Jason Mesnick and wants to get after that bi$%ch Molly for taking her reality love away?
Will we see new blogs called TheBitter renamed after TheBragger stops getting into the kitchens of famous chefs, due to too chapped, a$$-kissing lips failing him?
Will this cause DC to stop informing us of free stuff and openings? One hopes not. And, hey, Looziana hot sauce works quicker, buddy.
And finally, this has nothing to do with SideDish not getting a pre-show start interview. Read Eats... "In a written statement, the Food Network's publicist says that Melissa's husband had a job offer in Seattle, and they made a quick decision to move. The date was June 28th. She moved to Keller in 2006, and was living there when the show was filmed, up through the airing of the first 4 episodes."
So, it was obviously something much more important than that. Like "why bother."

Belmont Hotel in Dallas' North Oak Cliff announces new restaurant concept
Tim Byres had an amazing place going at Standard. He's a very talented chef.
If this place emphasizes 'comfort foot' without the deep frying, 4lbs of butter & batter, and the Tristan-bar-food-is-getting-old-school formula, then it could be as big a success as Bolsa is now with those owners behind it!

Wildscaping North Texas: episode 3
Great butterfly pics, John! Now it's time to take a closer look at our 4ft dill before I cut it back!
I can think of few politicians who should have had only 2 genetic weeks to live, and then failed at producing any progeny, but that's another creepy bug story....

Checking out Nick & Sam's Grill in Dallas: What's the big deal?
The entire place is a restaurant afterthought, except in it's homage to Texas: Home of the 3 Bs.
Blondes, boobs and Budweiser.

Arlington p.o.'ed that American Idol says Cowboys Stadium is in Dallas
Arlington better get used to it.
If Idol had said they were auditioning at the Dallas Cowboys stadium in Arlington, people would have been lining up in Virginia, all the while wondering how they missed the announcement of the Cowboys move to the northeast.

Sambuca in Addison closing down on Saturday, June 27
Boy... What a history Sambuca has had. From it's original "the hot club" in Deep Ellum, with the 7+ foot doorman, to the Addison second co-location that actually succeeded in duplicating the great food and food service and jazz acts, and now it closes to move to homogenized Plano. Will a Kenny G 3-day Jazz Snooze be the next thing they do? Maybe Yanni on the electric pan pipes?

Great social networking food review, TG. 99 met a friend there for lunch a couple of months back and never again.
And major congrats to Marc on those 2 pics. In all my years in Dallas I have never seen 3 bulbous-chested boobies in one location. And the female of the species, no less. He needs to contact The Audubon Society with those shots!

Bijou, Caribbean-African-French restaurant, opens in Arlington
Hey "Tasie" my man... did you know that Africa is a continent and not a country of defined food cusine (or culinary culture), like France?
There's no such definitive thing as "African food" any more than there is "North American" food or an "Asian" food or "Antarctica" food.
RE: "A lot of the time, when people see African food, they're seeing food that's not well presented. I think it's important to show the American public that African food can be as pleasing to the eye, the nose, and the taste buds as any other food."
What do people see as "African food" Tasie? Roasted wildebeest or hartebeest from Kenya (had it, at Carnivore). Rice from the Islamic Kenyan island of Lamu (had it)? Pork spareribs from Nairobi (yup)? A Big Mac from downtown Mombasa (I avoided it)? Rice from Botswana? Yams from Chad? Plantain from Angola?
The cuisine in Kenya is as different from the cuisine in Namibia as the cuisine in Denmark is from the cuisine in Portugal.
What are you serving, Tasie, and what country in Africa is it from? That way, we can all know whether to eat there or not. Thanks... ;-)

Watch out for Doyle!
They will only sell the bonds if they get 5.5% or lower. Good luck on that anytime soon!

I've bounced through the bluebonnets and rolled through the rosemary. Still haven't bopped through the basil or strummed through the sedum or p--d on a peacock, though.

Checking out Russo's Coal-Fired Pizzeria, serious new pizza place in Richardson
Only on that mythical day that Campania's West Village pizza finally gets consistent -- instead of a limp noodle one time and a crisp slab the next -- will I ever take their comments about other pizza seriously.
Until then... phfft...

TG... Still waiting to see pics of the crack. Marc???
Worzel... You ain't lived till you've had a '99 Saxon Brown Zinfandel, Casa Santinamaria, with a 4-hour cooked Bolognese. Unless that isn't food.
Scott... I think that you meant to say "box wines" as a cask is pretty well synonymous with a barrel in wine-talk.
I, like Hannibal, prefer my fava beans with liver and fine Chianti.

Backdoor Comedy Club in Dallas showcases local comedians every weekend
People who live in Addison, of course!
But I haven't been to either. I should make it a point to go.
