  What beautiful prose...

  My Beano, a terrier mix I dognapped from a hateful, abusive owner, has been at my side for 12 years.

  Yes, he's mute, he farts a lot and he's beginning to lose his hair on his tail and noggin from old age, but he's the funniest and most delightful companion I could ever imagine.

  He's my little illegal greeter at Club Dada, eager to jump into a booth with any stranger who'll have him and he's the best all around snuggle buddy I could have in the bed with me.

  The found ones are the keepers, that is for sure.

  hacked...I think not. Unless it was hacked by someone who attended events at Uropa, snapped pics at Uropa, posted them, and set up an age verification page to access said photos...

  Again, I'm thrilled they are gone!

  What most of the news outlets failed to mention was that Rasansky called the City Attorney up to the podium, who deemed they should be operating as a Sexually Oriented Business...he then motioned to have proceedings starting to shut them down ASAP.

  While I wholeheartedly believe the Bemused, Consternated, Vexed, Indignant or Whatever He’s Decided to Call Himself Today’s are entitled to their opinions, I’ve always thought the way he/they go(es) about it is rather distasteful.

  I’m a smart girl with a rather large vocabulary myself yet I still take great umbrage when folks like Bemused, Veracity, et al, abuse their own intellect and their vocabulary to antagonize, intimidate, and insult people. And though I’m paraphrasing, didn’t Ayn Rand once write something to the effect of, “arguments based on intimidation are confessions of intellectual impotence?”

  Anyhoo...

  I’m glad to see that Dos Miguels were able to catch the Ordinance Zealot violating the law.

  Thanks for posting both videos. Its the most comprehensive example of what I was trying to say in my earlier post.

  Again, I haven't spoken to anyone, privately or at either of the two memorials this week, including last night's, that have expressed ill will towards Mr. Logg.

  I think if anyone watches Channel 11's two-part interview with Carter's mom and dad, they'll know that his family did an excellent job of articulating how badly everyone feels for everyone involved.

  I can assure you that everyone I've spoken to has not villianized Mr. Logg. Quite the contrary, they're still mourning the loss of a friend.

  And correct me if I'm wrong but the only fingers even remotely thinking of pointing at a 'bad guy' are the fingers pointing in the direction of Chantix, not Mr. Logg.

  Ernie at Troy Aikmen Ford just put me in a 2005 Escape with a 3 year bumper to bumper warranty for very little down and a low monthly payment...start to finish it look less than 2 hours and it was a no-hassle experience.

  I can answer that...two of the artists that I book and manage with my partner, Kris Youmans, are in the showcase, and I have been handling all communications and contracts for the Showcase, so when they sent the schedule out for the artists, I received it...then, I posted it on my blog, because I'm sneaky that way.

  Also, the schedule has been updated to reflect that J.D. Whittenburg is actually the artist playing at 8pm at the Greenville Ave Pub, between Money Waters and The Valentines...

  As a scooper who, until recently, lived in a scooping neighborhood, my biggest pet peeve isn't the non-scooping...it's the folks who scoop and then dump the doo into MY trash cans.

  I'd rather sidestep another dog's poo than to open my trash cans on a hot summer day.

  I double bag the poo before I throw it away to avoid olfatory offense for myself and my sanitation workers...

  Seems that would be the least a neighbor could do if they insist on using someone else's trash cans as Doo Disposal Dumpsters.

  I thought it would be like some folks throwing up or doing some other gross, public bodily-function thing...

  shudder

  I don't know what was worse....the boob flopping or the kissy faces to the camera.

  Don't get me wrong, I'd hate to find myself in the position of having nowhere to change my clothes, go to the bathroom, etc...but I think I'd at least try to maintain some dignity...

  But then again, in their defense, the odd behavior, aggression, persistence, etc may also be a direct indication of the thing that seems to plague the homeless the most: untreated/undiagnosed mental illness...

  I cannot even begin to fathom what it would be like to be that desperate, that resourceless and that lost in addition to being mentally ill.

  And if Avi's unhappy now, he better pray that Oakley isn't elected...for if he becomes mayor and tears down all the low-rent, albeitoften crime riddled, housing he wants to, you can bet your sweet bippy Dallas' homeless population will increase...
