Redoubling Dallas' resolve: Big D dreams double-D big

Wow. Hard to believe but this is the longest, most thought-out piece on "local politcs" the PN has run recently. I guess the site does reflect real Dallas values.

Joel Burns sworn into Fort Worth Council a week ahead of schedule

It would be great if there was some informed analysis of these developments. From what I understand, the issue is not completely resolved yet. The city charter says "shall" be sworn in at the first council meeting after canvassing an election, not "may." So the attempt by Burns to be sworn in early may or may not work, depending on what a judge says.

Supermarket chain Aldi headed to Oak Cliff?

Parity will not be achieved until there is a Central Market or Whole Foods at the corner of Kiest and Illinois or Camp Wisdom and 67 or 30 and Cockrell Hill. Don't settle for a token expansion of a European "Savers."

Ask Dallas mayoral candidate Sam Coats a question

    Three Questions:

    1) As a current TXI board member, can you point to one thing you are doing, have done, or tried to do, to stop TXI's practice of burning hazardous waste in its 50 year-old cement kilns in Midlothian?

    2) Do you support TXI's lobbying against SB1177, state legislation supported by the City of Dallas that would provide for testing of new pollution controls in Midlothian cement plants?

    3) Do you support TXI's lobbying against a proposed new City of Dallas policy to buy cement for city projects from the least polluting cement plants?
