After the whole "video brouhaha" and now this. Man, you begin to wonder, "Is this worth it anymore?"

Great-I can see my own pity party bus coming around the corner to pick up my tired ass up. Gotta go.

Wow. Totally floored by your mean-spirited comments. That was so not my intent on the review at all.

Oddly enough the cast, director, and many subscribers of my column have emailed me in the last 24 hours praising the review and how brave it was to share that. Sorry you didn't see it that way.

Even the Playwright Del Shores emailed me last night from Los Angeles last night thanking me for the very touching review and that it made him cry.

Really sorry you didn't see it that way. It was mean't to express what I felt, not to do a pity party.

Next time when I see an abused woman on TV who was killed at the hands of her abusive husband, I will think of your comments of "pity party" and hope the majority of society does not feel that way.

I had to double check on a name spelling on the nominees when I came upon these "Comments" for the first time Saturday.

I could comment forever. But I'm not. I have a gala to produce.

All I can say is this. If the video, my actions, my behavior, me being gay, my unprofessionalism, my immature attiude, and so on offended you.

Then just don't support The Column Awards anymore. Don't view their videos. Don't read THE COLUMN. Unsubscribe.

Don't bother with THE COLUMN Awards. Don't vote, Don't attend. It's that simple.

If we offended anyone, we will certainly apologize to that. That was not our intent.

We are not perfect-nor EVER said we were. We learn each year when we we produce this event.

We have our supporters and we have our detractors.

You cannot please everyone. It's impossible.

Finally, I NOR The Column has a "monolpoly" on awards. There is the DFW Critics Forum Awards. Also various theater companies have their own awards as well (Onstage, Runway, Theatre Arlington).

I'm not perfect (DF), I am extremely flawed. I do the best I can, and along the way I will drop the ball,screw up, and do the wrong thing.

Those who support us-love us. Those who don't support us-hate us. It is impossible to please everyone.

I'm only human.
