Great perspective for an outsider (me) to understand the importance of these individual races. Only thing that would have made it better is reaction from candidates, supporters etc. But I'll take the inside scoop, and appreciate the disclaimer, over traditional journalism's rounding up the usual suspects for comment. Eagle Ford is also known, less so, as one of Dallas' barrios. Hispanics attended the Eagle Ford School, which looks abandoned but actually houses a small high-tech company, adjacent to thriving retail in Pinnacle Park (some of which sits atop forgotten African-American and Anglo graves).

You can see photos and descriptions of this and other barrios in an exhibit volunteers organized that is at the Museum of Nature & Science in Fair Park. It was to have closed with the State Fair, but has been extended through Thanksgiving.
