UPDATED with video: Colorful Farmers Branch Japanese festival draws thousands
Loonz, you can get all the okonomiyaki you want at Sushiyama!!
This thing was pretty fun, although it was a little strange to be wearing summer dresses and eating shave ice in September! Oh well, welcome to Texas!!
Next is Otsukimi!

Dallasfood.org's mysterious Scott does breathtaking analysis of Smoke, the buzzy new restaurant at Belmont Hotel in Oak Cliff. Uses innovative question format!
Some person, actually BILLNUMBERS was all like what the hell? Did you see this thing this person wrote and I was all like what??? I was actually reading something like you know on paper. Then he was all like what do you think about this like you know dripply plates menus paper baskets thing? Then I was all like yeah I'm picky if it's Kobe, Wagyu or Alberta Angus since it's close to home but since my ancestors didn't wear barrels for clothes I don't really care what zip code somebody's slippery sauce bottle comes from. Then he was all like well, geez, you're grouchy. Then I was all like, yeah, I guess I was.

Oxygen reality show Naughty Chef gives Dallas chef Blythe Beck her 15 minutes
It was both a good thing and bad thing I had a few drinks when this thing showed up on my television. It's good because I was chilled out and didn't throw some artisan gin at my new TV. It was bad because I couldn't find the remote to banish this offensive ignoramus from my living room without resorting to unplugging the device.

Hotel ZaZa in Dallas among Texas spots to feature world's first Açai spirit
All this time I didn't realize that this was responsible for changing how I thought about cocktails. It's probably true because something that has like only 53% more whangobango is clearly inferior when it comes to shredding the gnar.

Planners unveil schematics for Perot Museum of Nature & Science at Dallas' Victory Park
Who decided that the architecture for Dallas was going to be 'cubes'? It's basically 'pubes' but with different consonants and shapes.

You know when rappers start rapping about being rappers?
Basically I understand people write about what they know, but other than TG I haven't seen the staffers actually writing much lately.

Concert review: The Raven Charter
I once played in a ska band and we made $200 a show plus all the beer we could drink. For 12 people it wasn't bad.
In another vein, if this review does not involve breathing in the death fumes from an expired raven in a brown paper bag, count me out.

What exactly are you shocked about? He basically lived the number of years you would expect for a male American.

On this, we agree.

Restaurant review: GoGo Burger in Frisco
It's a burger.
However, mackfarckjack, I hope you enjoyed the excessive use of parentheses, ball fondling and learning that salivary glands produce saliva.

Wolfgang Puck is not leaving Five Sixty at Dallas' Reunion Tower, as rumored
I didn't think anyone who goes to this place thinks they will see Wolfgang any more than they think they'll see Ronald when they pick up a quarter pounder, but I was wrong on another occasion, too.

Smoke
Thanks Teresa! I'll admit that it was pretty damned late when I was posting that thing and there may have been imbibing involved!! More Exclamation Marks!!!
Let's face it, CC in its' latest version SucKed. The signature buffalo chicken mac and cheese was good for about the same effect as an ice cold half liter of Citro-Mag. The acoustics were also 9000% terrible.
When we were latest in Vancouver I bought this hot pink bikini that is SUPER CUTE with these little rivets on the straps! I thought on Friday I'd knock off work a little early, kick it by the pool then check out the snacks at SMOKE.
Well, the get out of work early idea totally didn't happen as usual. Hence minimal bikini wearing happened on Friday. Rain compounded problem.
The SMOKE event, was also rain filled.
Will say space is about 6.02 X something better than the old one with a relaxed lookin' bar, a disgustingly cigarette filled patio and a peek in to the kitchen. Bands around, yelling, looked promising...
How about the food, you say???
How about it???
Food??
About????
NO FOOD!!
What?!@>
It was like 10 and apparently they were out. Hey, it was busy, I get it. Instead, went back to the house. Everyone involved should have just put the phones in to airplane mode since little happened that didn't involve other stuff.
Initial impression: looks promising.

New KERA station puts focus on North Texas music scene
Actually CK has a point because the Chinese are rather likely to come and possess your house and in exalting their communist leader begin a chorus of "follow the lead-a lead-a lead-a, the roof, the roof the roof if on FIYA!!"

You know, JR, it would be easier to read if your columns were a little better justified and you didn't use that tiny font no one can see.

I TOTALLY would have written up this piece on the SMOKE opening and how awesomely killah this pink bikini in the closet is, but I cannot since it isn't listed. Oh well:

Is that honestly the best you can do? I mean if you audited some community college class on internet posting I recommend you ask for a refund before someone beats your avatar up after you recommend they spend their time eating fried chicken or putting tortillas up their backside.

Shock of Pleasure
No, it's not, extra duh
If you went to PN and saw a listing for this group and they no-showed, hey, you'd be unhappy.
Then the next time, it's like one guy going "check one-two, checka one-two" for like an hour, you wouldn't want to go see them again, either.
Instead, screw 'em, I'm waiting for In This Moment
and DeadMau5
and Armin
and Neko
and hey, do I really hate Dallas??

No, it's more that since the new business model involves retwweeting, kinda like the courtesy flush for information, you can't actually make headlines that make sense like "Deep Ellum Association" vs "Drug Enforcement Agency" aaaaaannd curtain.
