I've dined here several times since the opening 4 months ago. I was lucky enough to be invited to the soft opening and fortunate enough to have gotten to try the Akaushi cut. For the money ($100) honestly, it's not worth it. It WAS a tasty piece of beef...buttery, melted in your mouth, but I've found the prime rib to be much better tasting. As for starters, the maui onion rings are excellent..thick cut sweet onions in a tempura style batter...i order the sauce on the side, as sometimes they can lay it on a bit thick causing the batter to become a little soggy. The black truffle gnocchi is a wonderful dish - almost enough to suffice as a meal. The buttery rectangular bits of pan friend pasta drizzled with truffle oil smell and tast amazing! As mentioned above the mac and cheese is excellent as well. I've also tried the fries and found them to be a welcome change to run of the mill potatoes. Soups are wonderful here, with my favorite being the clam chowder. Tons of littleneck clams, thick pieces of potato...so so good. All in all the food here is top notch...they also just started doing a happy hour Monday to Friday from 4-7 with some pretty great deals. 1/2 off on wine, specialty martinis and beer. If you combine that on a Monday with the $32 prime rib special, you get a pretty wonderful experience for a pretty good price..the happy hour is at the bar only...
