Rhine was a fantastic guy. When I covered FCD he was always helpful and kind, whether as a player or later when he was in community development. He was tirelessly committed to the DFW soccer community and to the MLS. RIP Bobby.

It turns out that the grass was donated to the Hispanic Youth Program in Dallas County. They started a soccer program some years ago.

This game set a Texas soccer attendance record. The previous record was 70,550 for Mexico City's Club America at Relient Stadium in 2006.
As the <a href="http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/spt/football/cowboys/stories/072009dnspo1asoccer.4013f4d.html">DMN</a> points out, Club America happens to be playing Chelsea FC this coming weekend at Cowboys Stadium in the World Football Challenge match.

Russ, for some more cool NASL and Dallas Tornado stories and photos, check out nasljerseys.com. The guys collects and sells the old jerseys, but also provides a wealth of information about the clubs and the history of the organization.
I'd love to figure out a way to repost some of his things on this site, but many of the photos are copyrighted works from other publications.

James, I was told by someone at the door that there weren't too many tickets left, and down on the floor we certainly felt crowded, (until people started to jet), but it could have just been where I was. Thanks for the perspective on the seats, I could only see a couple rows up from the floor.
