Man, that's depressing. I loved their pizza, and everyone there was so nice. I was worried about them, though, because it was always slow. I'm sad.

Re: Teresa's comment about how products reflect trends in popular culture... that is exactly what the DMN editorial was about: the "premiumization" of our retail economy. I completely agree that these trends do say a lot about where we are going. Which is why I love to read about them!

On New product Wednesday, at Dallas-area stores: Hershey's Pumpkin Spice kisses

I really like pumpkin spice flavor generally, but the softness of these things makes them sound pretty awful. Bleh. Still, I am glad to know about them. By the way, Theresa, I am sure you saw the recent editorial in the DMN about "premium" M&M's. I felt very smug to have known about them months before.

Got it on Tivo. I like Paciugo, but since they're not at Central Market anymore, or anywhere near me that I can get to AND park, I've defected to Natsumi. I hate to sound so disloyal, but Natsumi is better.

Yay for Fort Worth! Love it when the west side gets some new culinary action.

Me too. I won't be watching this show again, even though it airs at a time when my Tivo is dying of boredom.

On Dallas contestant Liza Garza does not win The Next Food Network Star

This is the first season I have watched this show, and I have to say I did not get the finale at all. There was no criticism AT ALL, only copious praise for everyone. I guess this feeds into the perception that "it's anyone's game," but to me, it was super annoying. This is an elimination game, and someone has to be better than someone else to win. The "final deliberations" were a complete joke, and I think it made the big revelation of the winner seem random and contrived.

Wow. This I have to try. With all the new ice creams out there, it really helps to know which ones are worth the seemingly exorbitant cost these days. ($6 for a pint?!)

When it cools off, maybe you could rate a sampling of some of the exotic chocolate bars at CM. I sometimes gaze at those, but am overwhelmed by the options and end up passing them by. If I'm going to invest the calories, I want the best!

I think the problem, as described by Tushface, is that they are all deeply flawed candidates. So I can see why they didn't want to promote two bad choices as winners, which is what the "finals" connotes. Although if this were Top Chef (the show all food reality shows must aspire to), clearly Aaron would be gone. I guess he's pretty well set up to win now.

I am so sad about losing the one on Greenville.
