That was fast: Lemon Bar on Henderson closed
Wow, a "concept". How opposite of interesting. I guess it could be worse - another Mi Cocina.

Sarah seems to be holding a euphonium, not a tuba. I want a discount.

Well, at least this lawsuit doesn't seem frivolous, like so many others.

Venue review: The Foundry in West Dallas
Don't let these simpletons tell you The Foundry isn't in Oak Cliff. Oak Cliff was a city long before it was part of Dallas, and long before I-30 existed.

Studio Movie Grill spruces up concept, unveils sleek monolith on Spring Valley
I'll likely be driving past the Royal Ln. location to patronize this one. Sounds awesome, and the neighborhood is not terrible at all.

Is Taco Diner insanely overrated like Mi Cocina is?
You're wrong, both places are not only overrated, they ARE bad. Their popularity is head-scratching, especially in a town with so much great Mexican food.

Arrest, not age, to blame for Jane McGarry's departure from NBC5
But she didn't hit or kill anybody. She did nothing that 96% of the population hasn't done at least once. Rationalize it however you'd like, but this is nothing but an excuse for the station to get younger at that position.

Concert-goers in Dallas should shut up and listen
I've been (and heard others) bitching and moaning about this in Dallas for years, and it's pretty much driven me away from smaller venues. It's almost like half the crowd at any given show was already there and a performance broke out, and they neither noticed nor cared. Makes me want to fling an empty beer bottle in their general direction.
And don't even get me started on the audiences at DSO performances!

Hipster Doofus hangout. Spoken by somebody that thinks the Olive Garden has some kick-ass Italian food.

Frisco's first food truck festival arrives April 28
My experience with food trucks is that they are over-priced and decidedly mediocre. OK if that's all that's available, certainly not a destination.

Pepe & Mito's in Dallas gets its spotlight moment on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives
My favorite Mexican joint in Dallas, hands down. It helps that I live just down the street.

Fish City Grill to close Henderson Avenue branch
Loved Fish City, hated the dumbasses that made the parking lot valet only (on certain nights). Too many other places that don't have that headache to make it worthwhile.

Velvet Taco opens on Henderson with more buzz than the usual taqueria
I'm kind of glad the new Taco El Guero is opening to little hype. The original on Carroll doesn't get a ton either, and it does just fine. Besides, "The Velvet Taco" is probably supposed to sound witty, but it just sounds like something that would make a 12-year-old giggle.

As a resident of Lakewood since '96, it saddens to me to know that there will be a Mi Cocina anywhere near here.

Taco Ocho opens in Richardson on Campbell Road
Kane, that place is called Panchito's, and despite the sign out front, the tacos are $1 every night, or at least every night that I've been there. Which is often, because I would dare say that they ARE great. Also, Taco Guero is opening up an outpost in the old Popeye's space adjoining the Whip-in gas station on Gaston, down near E.Grand. Oh joy!

"Neighborhood taqueria"? They would fold like a cheap card table in my E. Dallas neighborhood, where the tacos sabrosos go for $1 a pop, sometimes $1.35. Then again, if anybody ever described these taco stands of which I speak as "fast casual", the owners would probably WANT to fold.
