This is a pretty decent place for some tapas. They have a good selection to choose from that will appease pretty much everyone. I’m not sure if they still have it, but most of the time during the weekend evening, they have live music playing. Sometimes it can be a little rambunctious, but you could always just ask to be seated further back in the house. I’d recommend ordering a pitchet of sangria as well, makes for a great way to wash back the tasty tapas you just ate!

The food is actually pretty decent, considering their vast menu selection. Most places that has this much to choose from will fall flat on a lot of their dishes. But I didn’t really find that to be the case here. The price point will probably be a little high for some people, but it’s getting towards that area of town where anything is going to cost you. A decent selection of cheesecake to choose from as well. If you’re not a cheesecake kind of person, there’s other items that may be of interest. A good place to check out every once in awhile.

This place is pretty much guaranteed to be hopping late at night. But that’s because everyone is blasted from Lower Greenville and has the munchies. I know it bills itself as traditional Mexican cuisine, but I haven’t tasted anything that really stood out and made me want to return. That compounded with the fact that it will come back to haunt you within 30 minutes of intake. I guess it works if you’re heading home from the bar and just HAVE to get some Mexican food, but I’ll pass.

I went here twice. The food seemed bland, kind of like how I think the food at Boston’s Market tastes. Nothing really exciting here, especially given the number of places to eat along this area of Preston.

One my first trip, I was eating my chicken and noticed something odd. Turns out they scrub their chickens down with a wire-like brush prior to being cooked. One of the pieces of wire brush made it into my chicken. Suffice to say, that kind of grossed me out. My second and final trip was to redeem my free entrée coupon that they gave me as some sort of reparations payment. When I worked in this area, I never heard anyone trying to round up people to head over to this place. And it was right across the street from a building that housed 1,000 employees.

I think the only reason to go here is because it was close in proximity to meet at. The service is usually subpar at best, but I think it has to do with their general clientele. Look at their location and read into it what you like.

An o-k place to go if you’re hungry and just happen to be in the area. But if so, you have a slew of other places along the same street.

One of my complaints about this place is because of lack of acknowledgement of complaints. I visited this establishment on one occasion and we had to sit in the bar area. A male and female bartender were seen playing kissyface behind the bar. And we’re not talking about a little hug as they passed by one another. If you want to do that, get a room. I don’t want to see it while I’m trying to eat. Additionally, waitstaff could be seen eating some sort of dip platter or whatnot behind the bar, and then delivering food to customers without washing their hands. This INCLUDED the manager on duty. I sent a complaint letter to Cheddar’s local corporate headquarters and received no response. I even called in to verify they received the letter which the secretary acknowledged. I even spoke to one of the higher up the food chain management who asked that I send it to his home email so he could review it. I never heard back from anyone. I wasn’t looking for a hand out. I was just looking for an apology for their absolutely poor manner in which they conducted business.

For the most part, I think Champps is an alright place. The food is pretty decent, and you can actually get some fairly decent tasting stuff. But if you’re going to do that, I’d recommend actually sitting in the actual sit-down dining section rather than at the bar.

One of the main reasons to head here is because of it’s close proximity to the Tollway. It makes for a good meet up place for happy hour. Decent drink prices can be found then, and if you want, you can grub on your typical bar food and it won’t set you back a paycheck. Worth checking out every so often.

Ugh. Cape Buffalo. Honestly, I can’t stand going to this place. The only reason I think I do is because it’s a compromise when we can’t think of anywhere else to go. Hungry? Go somewhere else, unless you’re tempting fate with the usual fare of bar food. It’s an alright place if you want to get a group together to go shoot some pool and listen to blaring music. On weekends, there’s your usual strew of crappy cover bands that parade through. I remember this seemed pretty cool when I was in college, swilling back $2 refills of Old English in Houston, but come on… it’s 2008. That’s one of the drawbacks here. If you’re anywhere in this establishment, you stand a pretty good chance of having to maneuver through the dance floor just to get to the bathroom. Calling 7-Mary-3 and 4... we have a report of a cougar attack on a young male. This place definitely ranks pretty high up there for the number of cougar sightings at a venue in Addison. Be warned.

Maybe this place is hopping at night, because it never seems to be during lunch. There appears to be a spot for some live music, which again must be at night. Presentation during lunch seems to be a bit overdone, a la cloth napkins, banquet ice water glasses, etc. While the food wasn’t overall bad, I wouldn’t say that it was anything spectacular either. It just kind of gives that sort of eerie vibe when you’re sitting in the place eating and there’s only one other table of patrons in the place. Maybe the couple of times I’ve been in the past were flukes. Maybe they don’t really cater to a huge lunch crowd, I don’t know. But that seems kind of odd considering all of the business clientele along this area of Preston.

I’ll admit I’m not the biggest sushi lover on the planet. With that being said, there weren’t a whole lot of other menu selections to choose from. I’ll end up with some generic sort of chicken dish which seems to pretty much be the standard choice for non-sushi lovers. I’m not really sure if I’d consider this a great value, I think it’s one of those places you hit up if you’re going to be in the Addison area, are hungry for sushi, and have plans to in Addison later that night. On occasion you’ll have to fight the Sherlocks crowd for parking.

Overall a decent place. I think there’s more overall selection here than at California Pizza Kitchen. You can get your run of the mill pepperoni pizza here, or you can venture out and try one of their gourmet ones. I went with the BBQ chicken pizza and it was pretty decent. This place actually had a decent sized bar adjoining the restaurant area. Appears this is more geared towards the sports crowd, but you can enjoy the restaurant part only if you so desire.
