PPT - Rowdy, Proud, & Pissed Off

Seems to me like it's nothing more than creative PR. A way to keep your name in the news. Bands have been doing this forever - there's nothing wrong with it...until Pac and Bigge get shot.

Somehow, I don't see this ending up that way.

We've got them "Deep Ellum Blues"

Yep, that's exactly what I meant.

A simple idea that wouldn't really solve that much...

....but I wish there were more weekend daytime music things going on there - just a little low-key outdoor stage music festival. It's easy to park then, not nearly as scary, the weather is perfect right now, and it's a way to get people back to Deep Ellum AND have a positive experience all in one. It exposes a lot of new bands and lets people hear new things.

Again - certainly not a "solution" - if there is such a thing - but something that's sorely missing from the Dallas music scene in general. Outdoor concerts that aren't trying to promise record deals or what not - just ones that do it because hearing music outside while having a beer is a good way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

What do is exceedingly likely that Tom Petty, Camille Cortinas and Travis Hopper have in common?

Wrist-slapping...that sounds so negative! I just wanted to let you know that Tom hadn't approved it yet. And by Tom, I mean Tom Petty. I just call him Tom now though....

Well, it was on the bonus disc, but I guess I'm too late to clarify. I think my answer would've passed on Jeopardy, but you're the Trebek here. Your call, I guess...

Wanna Be In A Movie Soundtrack?

They're not taking anything right now....or at least not to the email addresses they have posted. Both have kicked back as "undeliverable". Hope they get those fixed soon...

    Van. Freakin'. Morrison

I saw him in New Orleans a few years ago. He got pissed during the first song of the set over some feedback, and walked off during the second song. They coaxed him into playing 2 more songs, but ultimately it was a 3.5 song, 20 minute concert for $75.

I haven't been able to listen to him much since then...which is really a shame, b/c he was always one of my favorites.

So beware. I'd just stick to the album sif I could do it all over again.
