Redesign preview: A rose by the same name
excellent decision! I think you absolutely have gained some local brand awareness with Pegasus - no sense in throwing that all away for nothing. I think it would be an interesting exercise to see if you could gain that same sort of local brand name awareness in other markets by choosing a term or object or something somewhat relevant to that city (like "Pegasus") to see if it catches on. Kind of how the Observer is the similar mag, different name in different cities.

Bill - since it's completely obvious by your last reply that you don't have a clue either, KT23 was pointing out the irony in your literary criticisms while misspelling the word "grammar" - twice.
How's about everyone lighten the F up, huh? It's Friday.

Hilary Swank forum in Dallas frustrates due to poor moderation
How could anyone claiming to know anything about movies not know of Pat Morita's character in that movie?

Grill on the Alley at Galleria Dallas introduces gluten-free menu for lunch and dinner
there are lots of good gluten free breads and pastas out there, it's just that most restaurants aren't going to bother carrying them.

Historic building in Denton is recognized for its significance to community
I kind of half expected the end of this story to mention how there were plans to tear-down the building to make way for a new CVS. Glad that's not the case!

Without health insurance, women in North Texas must make tough choices
Yeah, it's really sad that business stoop to trying to make money. Makes me sick just thinking about it (I think I heard a "cha-ching").

Zato Thai Cuisine and Sushi Bar just opened in Dallas' Lake Highlands
lol, the namesake of the restaurant is a brand of sake that you can't even buy in the store? Kinda lame.

Woman loses dog; family who she thinks adopted dog at shelter won't let her visit to see if it is hers.
Wow, that is pretty freakin' sorry. That family doesn't even deserve a dog period - if they're that pathetic, they don't have enough compassion to properly care for a dog in the first place. How would the family have any idea whether or not it was the lady's dog? If you've had your dog for 1 1/2 years, you can easily tell whether or not it's yours - especially dogs like Bostons with very specific markings.

Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant to open Park Lane branch November 9
I've heard the one in Plano isn't bad...looking forward to trying it out. I didn't realize it was opening so soon. Thanks TG!

Trying it the raw way at Bliss, Dallas' raw food cafe on Greenville Avenue
Sweet! I saw the sign the other day, but I didn't realize it said for Bliss only. Parking should not be a factor in anyone's decision whether or not to go now.

Parking's really not that bad, there are about 9-10 spots which are shared between the restaurant next door, but patrons from that restaurant seem to be on foot or park in another lot.
The place is so small though, that if all the parking spots are full, it might be a while to get seated anyway.
Hopefully they might get more foot traffic from the Park Lane apartment community as more people move in to that massive place. Also, I would suspect when the new Whole Foods opens, they could potentially get foot traffic from there as well, since you could theoretically park there and it's a relatively short walk.
I get the feeling they knew what they were doing when they opened up there - some pretty smart business people involved in the whole venture.

They Might be Giants performs a song about Deep Ellum's Trees nightclub
that's funny...I've heard that before but didn't realize it was referring to Trees Dallas.
They're doing their "kid's show" at the House Of Blues on the 31st.

Dallas frozen yogurt meltdown: I Heart Yogurt at Inwood Village in Dallas
lol - what? the owners don't want the secret of their brand new, Earth-shattering frozen yogurt concept out of the bag? They obviously haven't been following your frozen yogurt meltdown series, TG.

Word is that last night's Cattle Baron's Ball turned into a mud-mucked mess. Note from a friend on scene: "Seriously it was like the apocalypse out there. End of days for rich people. Face-planted women in the mud everywhere. Limos stuck. Total mess." Wish
would love to see pics of that!

We've got a photo of the State Fair of Texas fried butter right here
That's kind of disappointing. I expected some sort of super top-secret chemically and genetically altered butter that somehow circumvented all laws of natural science to withstand the high-temp grease emulsion and emerge as...well...fried butter.
And Pavel, I know what you mean, but wish I didn't.

Rise & Dine in Addison closes; chain re-emerges as Sunny Street Cafe
"Our consumer research tells us that Rise & Dine⢠generally connotes breakfast to most people."
Hmmm, not that you really need a research study to figure that out, but wouldn't you think they might have conducted that survey before basing a corporation around the name?

Man arrested in alleged bombing attempt at Fountain Place in downtown Dallas
forgive my ignorance (perhaps), but does "inactive" mean that it was only waiting for someone to 'push the button' to detonate, or does it mean that it was ready to go but not working properly?
either way, scary stuff...

I'm lost in this new layout. :_( Someone hold me.
It's white.
Real white.
