lol, yes, if we only had more BBQ joints here. And steak. And burgers. We're practically swimming in lettuce here.

5 hugely unhealthy meals at DFW restaurants
Season's 52 (still a chain) does post their calorie content, and all items are under 450 calories - something very nice to see. There was a nice little local place called Vitality House in Richardson (closed now) that printed calorie counts on their menu. Maybe - no, definitely - it's just something most people like to ignore.

Ramen! In Dallas!
oh wow, didn't realize they had closed John :/ If this place is at least as good as the Denton joint, I'll be happy.

New Big Tex could cost $600,000
The city shouldn't have anything to do with this - they simply own Fair Park and lease the facility to the fair, as far as I know.

Disappointment abounds at the Lake Highlands Good Eats food truck event on Small Business Saturday
I can't help but think timing of the event on Thanksgiving weekend was an issue as well. But yes, advertising was certainly a problem. I live in LH and had no idea it was going on until the day of.

UPDATED: White Rock Marathon is no more
This is a great route, for runners and spectators. I only wish Dallas residents would actually come out and support the runners. It's pretty pathetic the type of support this city gives compared to others.

Eat Jo Dawgs also offers a vegan veggie dog, and their buns are vegan as well. Very good with sauerkraut!

Pegasus Favorite Five: Vegan pizza in Dallas
I was just going off of what is said on their website. PbM says they started in 1956, while Campisi's says 1946. I'm guessing it comes down to semantics when talking about "pizzeria" vs. general Italian restaurant - as I think the first PbM just served pizza and nothing else.

Food truck review part troix: Nammi Cruisin Vietnamese Fusion
The Tofu Bánh mì is really great too! Also, the sandwich is huge - very filling, which is why going with the bowl is a better option.

Deep Ellum Brewing Co beer will be served in Boston bars
Yes Nancy! Sundown is absolutely the best place to go if you want veg food and a cocktail (aside from Anvil Pub if you're more into bar food). Just no place to be purely veg and grab an adult beverage.

I suspect just a matter of cost/benefit. Spiral Diner in Fort Worth serves beer/wine, but not in Dallas - mainly because the cost to get a liquor license outweighed what they thought their sales would be in return (not to mention the added overhead of stocking/serving/licensing servers/etc).

A vegetarian/vegan restaurant-bar 2000 miles away stocking DEBC beer, and not a single vegetarian/vegan establishment in Dallas even has a liquor license. That makes me sad.
However, looking up their menu online, they're not really all vegetarian - so that makes me feel better.
Doesn't make up for the fact that I'd love to sit down in a vegan restaurant in Dallas and order a glass of DEBC. Someday...
