Is this movie playing at the North Park theater? If so, Lennon's "Imagine" piano, that is parked in front of the box office, will no longer seem so out of place.
I don't think I'll ever understand why George Michael and his partner agreed to let that symbol of peace and simplicity rest within a shopping mall that is fueled by the root of all evil (money).

"Dunks" is known for its coffee more than its donuts.
Has anyone tried their packaged coffee? I bought some at TArget and it's dang good. I like it more than Starbucks.

It sounds like the people of our city need to change their perspective on the situation of homelessness. The problem with panhandling is not the mere annoyance it brings, it is an issue about how these people do not have access to the help they need to mentally recover from whatever has brought them their poverty. Simply give care to the homeless, and you'll take care of the problem. I'd much rather see my fellow citizens in good health than to look out the window and see a park set atop Woodall Rogers. We've got to prioritize better.
Have a heart Dallasites. These people need your help; and if it means giving them a buck or two, then spare a cent. I, for one, am not going to let my city tell me that I cannot care for others in whatever manner I choose.
Oh, and luniz... Great comment!

Sounds like a PR stunt to me. There's no way they'll acquire all those properties.
And more importantly, I'm a bit concerned about WHO'S "Truth" they intend on bringing to the nation? Life itself has proven that there's no such thing as "truth," in a world of varying spiritual values.
Don't get me wrong, it's alright for them to live THEIR "truth;" but their traditional philosophies are even more ancient than Belo's if they believe that they can influence the rest of the public into their way of life. Things just don't work that way.

I personally don't need a local Dallas writer to report, and prove, the facts behind the "Fire Buck" platform. ...The proof that Showalter doesn't fit is written all over the television screen.
That intense look that Buck ALWAYS sports from the dugout steps is enough to bring a club's emotions to a standstill. Buck's squad of 20 year olds needs positive energy to play effectively - not the hard edge discipline that Buck utilizes.
The best, and most consistant, player on the Rangers this season has been Otsuka. That friggin' guy has a smile on his face everytime he wraps up a game. Why is he able to perform so well? ...Because he doesn't have to pay attention to a damn word that comes out of Buck's mouth. If there was ever a situation in which it was beneficial to not speak the language of your teammates, it's as a Texas Ranger baseball player.
I know it might seem corny, and new age(y), to place emotions as the reason behind this team not winning, but ya gotta appreciate this stance to a certain degree. The Rangers either need a good manager, or a good psychiatrist, in order to make it to the 2007 playoffs.

I know Hicks is terrible, but I still have to place a lot of blame on Showalter.
Showalter's "Barney Fife," micro-managerial, style is wearing out players like Tex, Blalock, (Mench), etc. Buck is never going to have the laid back coaching demeanor that is needed to get this team's respect and attention.
I fully expect Daniels to "Fire Buck" during the offseason. He will bring in a young manager who can relate to this team, and motivate them to finally have some fun on the field. When the Rangers are having fun they'll win.

I like to call this town that I call home... "Dullass" - for the exact same reasons you just mentioned.
Is "Dullass" an appropriate moniker for this city? ...I think so.
