Does anyone know why Jody Dean is currently serving a one weeks suspension from 98.7 KLUV? Can't find anything anywhere.

Dallas’ NBC 5/KXAS reported to have laid off nine people
Not all radio is pulling the plug. Some are growing and adding people. The ones pulling the plug are those who are doing things the way they did them 10 years ago. The less local radio is, the less the need for it. The more local, the more valuable. Stop the presses, newspaper is going away while the progressive media people such as PN are re-tooling and adapting. I could right a friggin book.

Plano student claims he was spanked and choked by bus driver
Why is it that Clarence the bus driver has the courage to do what the parents won't? If is parents don't like the treatment, they should take him to school. There is a new bus service available for kids like that. You ride the country side in a new white van and they even give you a new jacket when you sign up.

Re-phrase. I do believe they should change the name and I also believe that they need suggestions as to what to change it to.

Census Bureau report determines that most affluent city in the U.S. is Plano
Go easy on Murphy. We've got our own angles there. Plano, Richardson, Wylie, Sachse, Garland and Parker have us surrounded. We don't need anymore help. I am convinced that there are few neighborhoods with "soul". Brett nailed it. Anything north of Bush is a sea of shingles. Top two things to do in the metroplex...shop and eat. Top two things people don't do in the metroplex...know their neighbors and get involved in the town they live in. Take a chance, walk next door and ask your neighbor what you can do for them. Now that takes some soul.

4-OT Stars victory still draws great ratings
I stayed up to watch this incredible game last night but the ad sellers for FSSW out to be hung out to dry. Was I the only one who got tired of the Whataburger, Chase Bank, Cialis and Natural Light Commercial Rotation? In between overtimes the same commercials played in the same rotation over and over again. Apparently someone did not sell this right and the sponsors they did sell got a heckuva bonus. Way to go Stars!!!

Movie review: Iron Man
Great movie. Downey was great. I am always skeptical of Superhero movies, but Downey did have depth, it was well written and produced. Some not so call-able twists and turns made it interesting. Saw the movie at the new Studio Movie Grill on Royal and Central. Great sound system. Rattled my pizza.

Dallas Stars 5, San Jose Sharks 2
This years Dallas Stars have me excited about hockey again. Last nights game showed a real will to win, they were making shots into the net unlike another pro team who could not make them through the net last night. Mavs are wearing me out, but thats a whole 'nother post. Go Stars!

Dallas VA psychiatric wing closed after 4th suicide in 4 months
Its too bad we ask people to lay their lives on the line for our country and then when they need medical help we send them to a hospital that is like doing your entire month's grocery shopping at a 7-11. Case in point. A friend of mine served in Viet Nam. Contracted Hep C over there, went undiagnosed for years and now needs a liver transplant. VA is no help, so he has begun a world wide search for a new organ. Perhaps you can help. Great guy, family man, wife, kids the whole 9 yards. www.hope4bruce.com
Here is his story. Bruce was born November 4th, 1950, to Del and Darleen Ohmann. He grew up in West St. Paul, Minnesota, and has lived here almost his entire life. He and his wife Kathy have two grown children, Mark and Noah. He worked at NSP/XCel Energy for 29 years and was an
active member of the
International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
Bruce has been an active outdoorsman and steward of the land for decades. His favorite activity is deer hunting on his land in west-central Wisconsin. He dabbles in farming—he plants various crops for the deer to enjoy and in 2002 planted acreage as a tree farm. He also
enjoys fishing and has never met a bird he could not identify.
Bruce needs a new liver because he contracted Hepatitis C as a young man while serving in the United States Military. It was not until years later, after briefly losing consciousness at a union event, he found out he had Hepatitis C. There is currently an epidemic of former Vietnam-era servicemen suffering from Hepatitis C. Many servicemen contracted the disease in hospitals from the tainted blood supply, or, as we think in Bruce's case, on military bases while being vaccinated with a high-pressure air injector that was not properly sterilized between uses.
After exhausting other options, his wife Kathy, his sons, his mom, and his brother and sisters have decided to make our appeal for a living partial liver donor public.
Perhaps you can share this link with those you know and that you may be able to help Bruce out.

Head on out to this show. As a staffer, I should lay out on this but due to the fact this is my son who I am extremely proud of and think has become an accomplished player, go see this guy and fill the tip jar. Fusion Cafe is a small but good venue for local musicians and is a good mix in the downtown Plano arts scene. And when you show up, ask him to do his rendition of City and Colour's..."Waiting".

Dallas and Fort Worth dodge the hailstone
Rebecca Miller has been fired from Channel 5. Too bad, my fishing guide at Lake Tawakoni used to ask his buddy in a Billy Bob Thornton voice..."hey..did you see what Rebecca was wearing this morning?" I would love to know why she was let go. The rumor is there was a strong run in with a low front against the jet stream.

Absolute Rehearsal Studios
These guys could use the business, they're just starting out and have built quite a place here. If you are in a band, call Michael or Chelsea and take the tour and see what they have and what will evolve here. They are building a musical mecca with rehearsal studios and complete with two venues that will open soon. So if you know of someone that is in need of a place to rehearse...have them call Absolute. 214-295-2673
