UPDATED: Arlington to no longer be "Fun Central"
There ya go! (or there they go) :-)
Arlington has an identity crisis and it's about time she faced it.

Arlington also served as a scaled-down version of Mineral Wells for a time - from about 1892 through the 1930s. There was a sanitarium where people could stay to partake of the healing waters, and medicinal crystals were produced from Arlington's well.

Fourth Annual Catholic Foundation Plaza Artists Competition asking North Texas artists for submissions
Maybe prepare to be surprised and don't poke pigeons into holes?
It seems to me that -- while barren in some sections of her house -- the Church is one of the few institutions which still entertains art in a holistic fashion - as a part of and not apart from her encounter with life. Her sanctuaries are her galleries.
It's neat to learn that she hosts walls such as this one as well.

Jonny the Saint and the Velvet Hand
... and so is Jonny the Saint and the Velvet Hand, in the opinion of this poster. I wish that we'd had Awesome back in my day.

Rowlett spending big dough to try to win national award
Now, this is wonderful :) Daniel Rowlett would be very proud of the path his settlement (estab. ca. 1835) is taking. Historic preservation and revitalization of inner-towns is almost always a bright move for a community, if the funds and support can be raised.
Ahh-chooh!! 'Love your underarm deodorant' <my gosh!=""> I'll play nice. Bye-bye.</my>

Arlington could require permit to operate off-site Cowboys game parking
"Reminds of me of my favorite Prof Tom Lehrer song, Vatican Rag..."
Professor Lehrer should have stuck with Mathematics (and pounded his issues into the numbers), or considered primal therapy. Then again, laughter is the best medicine and he surely enjoyed his share of chuckles while composing such an irreverent little ditty. The anger was channeled outward, you see.
I wonder whether "Vatican Rag" has ever been sung in Arlington of Texas. Maybe you can be the first to perform it there, Mr. Adelman. Whadaya think?

You sound like me, although I would argue that there is still a "home voice" to be heard in Arlington. I have a great-uncle who has resided there for almost eighty years, still drives and has an opinion about most everything that goes on there. Several other family members and friends have lived in "Sell-out Town" (as one calls it) for two decades and more. It is empowering, after a fashion, to reflect upon the influence which a little farmer's hamlet -- sandy of soil and Cross-Timbered -- has come to have on Big D (or, "The Octopus," as I call her).

Tipperary Inn (Closed)
I'm sorry to hear of your pub's closing. A friend had told me about how wonderful it was and I was looking forward to coming by on my next visit to Dallas. Best wishes to you and your family.

It's a shame -- please correct me if I'm wrong -- that there is no one who actually resides in Arlington who has voiced an opinion on this topic.
Alex, you write of pests "that eat and rob us of positive energy." And yet, when you refer to outlying areas of the Metroplex as 'Alien stations,' does that make for a positive statement? It seems to me that Pegasus News is reaching out to areas beyond Dallas-proper.

I adore the moon! And it's all about love when it's full, and joy and howling and hooting. That's what they call fun out here! It's wicked :) But I do have a haunted phone that troubles me on occasion. What do I need for that? Sea salt? Holy water? Oh, and organic cleanser for this graffiti that keeps showing up on my friend's wall. Somebody got turned around and thought they were in the men's room, I think.
If you want to see an artful wall, take the Trinity Railway Express. What a colorful surprise, and on a concrete canvas!

I don't think she needs one or the other. She chops firewood with her bare hands. Trees recently volunteered for parking-patrol duty and she drives an 18-wheeler, too. Not a woman to mess with!

The moon is full year-round for some of us, and that's okay.

Actually, it was her first time to post here today, as it was mine. She was born in Dallas, grew up here, knows the city and its various cultural aspects well -- and has as much right to be on this forum as you do; as much to contribute as do you. You'll likely have your wish, though, as I'm sure Peg News was a one-time venture for her. She merely was frustrated by what she had been reading and vented it.
But it would be nice if "A/T" would not use public message boards and similar venues communicate what should be expressed personally or left unsaid. There is nothing sassy in that; just a request. And I don't think he needs you to intercede for him.
I, for one, have no difficulty in understanding his communications.

True, true, Jason: I, too, perceive that we are in the presence of a prophet. No hat to tip, here, but will an old-fashioned bonnet do? Or a lifting of my veil? What if Ezekiel refuses to move -- just keep on tipping?
And I thought that Alien-transport was the ray of the future, Alexander. Maybe Jerry Jones knows something. Helicopters are so passe.

Launching it softly, with this post
Mike..maybe it just takes some time for it to show up under the Fans tab.
