Since they closed Deep Ellum Blues, the only reason I ever go there is to occasionally stop by Deep Sushi for some Unagi or maybe a meal at Daddy Jack's

The closest I get on a regular basis is at Pearl @ Commerce.

I guess what I'm saying I don't really give a sh*t about Deep Ellum anymore. It will never be like it used to be.

That was some show. Slim simply blew me away.

I felt kind of special when Cheryl Arena and I (Terry Montgomery) were invited up to sit in with them during the last set. Slim rarely allows sit-ins so it was a privilege.

I can't wait for their return to Pearl (The best live venue in Dallas).

I don't mind sharing my code words. They are quite simple. I called him "Young Sam" and he called me "Young Terry". Like Holland, whenever I approached Sam I'd simply say 'Young Sam" and he knew instantly it was me.

I remember one particular night in Dallas when somehow Sam, Hashbrown, the late ZuZu Bollin and I ended up in my clunky old Chevy Caprice just cruising Dallas looking for the Blues wherever we could find it.

Now I realize the Blues was in my Chevy the whole time.
