Detroit Red Wings 4, Dallas Stars 1

Hmmmmmmm, who was in goal for the first game? Who was in goal for the second game? Not saying Alex should be a #1 as I don't believe that but I firmly believe that we will NEVER get anywhere with Marty as #1 this year. Consistently Inconsistent describes him and you can't win with that. Look at how we ended up last hear and no one can say that Marty isn't getting enough rest. He also gets rest when he is removed from playing. Alex makes a fine back-up but Marty IS NOT #1 goalie material. His ego gets in the way too much and he likes to show off his "athleticism" which, in most cases, costs us a goal. While he flops around on the ice the puck goes right on by. Please, please pray that when this contract is up that will be the last we will see of him.

Anyone that recognizes my user name knows that it is a VERY rare day that Marty will receive a compliment from me but, after tonight's game, he deserves to be told , "Well done!" Of course, since his ego is so big he,therefore, already knows he had a great game. Again, well done Marty. Keep it up. Stay away from inconsistency and take us right on through the playoffs.

Edmonton Oilers 5, Dallas Stars 2

Yep, good ole' consistently inconsistent Turco. He made us believe that there was so much discontent on the team because of Sean Avery that he just couldn't concentrate. What a professional he is..........NOT!!! What will his excuse be now if, in fact, Sean is not allowed to return to the Stars? Who or what will be the reason for his sub-par play? He is so good at pointing fingers but never take the blame himself. JAMES - Maybe he has been "one of the best" but he was sporadic at best. He cannot be the goalie of a Cup winning team. CHRIS - I think the worst mistake was allowing Armstrong to sign Marty to such an iron-clad contract that we can't get out of.

New Jersey Devils 5, Dallas Stars 0

Funny, Marty just doesn't know what to do! Well, he could start by looking back at the past two or three years when he started the same way and do whatever he did then to pull out of this slump. As I remember last year there was a lot of talk about him going to the team psychologist. I think he might see when the next open appointment is. Even tonight he couldn't hold on to a 5 to 1 lead or even a 5 to 2 lead. His head is somewhere else most of the time and he does like to show off a lot which gets him and the team in trouble. He needs help. Where is Mike Smith when we need him?

Thursday Morning Cupcheck - The Dallas Stars are Finn-ished

Actually, it wasn't Finland West. Dallas was known as Helsinki South. We will miss our Finns but we certainly welcome our Swedes.

Forbes issues major smack-down to Tom Hicks for mismanaging the Dallas Stars

The only thing I agree on is that Tom Hicks does not take the proper interest in his team or those he has allowed to manage it. Many, many mistakes have been made by the GM and coach, with the approval of the Stars president and consequently the team has gone into a landslide. There is a lot of talent on the Stars but due to several inept decisions from the GM the team is floundering. The only decision that will help get the team back on track is to make some big changes in management and Mr. Hicks needs to be more responsible and knowledgeable about how the Stars are being mishandled.

This team has a very loyal fan base and the area is full of hockey fans so don't even go there. Your statement that there is "waning interest in the Dallas market for the Stars" is inaccurate. The Stars must contend with one of the hotest games/teams at this time of year and football in Texas will always win out. Anyone that has forsaken the Stars is certainly NOT a true hockey fan. Look at some of the Canadian teams that sell out game after game yet the team is a consistent loser. A major change in management would do wonders in getting this team back on track and Tom Hicks MUST GET INVOLVED.

Dallas Stars recall Chris Conner from Iowa, send Joel Lundqvist down

No, Lundqvist has not been the one to blame. Joel and Loui were the only two on the team that could be sent back down without waivers. I think both guys are playing their hearts out but there weren't any other choices.

Thursday Morning Cupcheck - Fortune Favors the Bold

Peter Forsberg WAS great but, unfortunately, it is a fact of life that we all age (except Chris Chelios) and Forsberg has aged and it seems that age magnifies problems you already have. Forsberg and Sakic have always been my two favorites but Forsberg is just out of gas.

As for Lessard, I'm not sure what the problem is but there is a problem. No other team wanted him so that is your first clue. I have heard that he has problems playing both ends of the ice. Now, as for Chris Conner, I have held my banner high for him. Since he is already ours it is foolish to not use him. I do know that management is letting him get a little more experience because of his size. As it was put to me "they don't want to get his little body crushed?" Of course we can always look at Derek Roy, Brian Gionta and Martin St. Louis. They have held up quite well. Sooooo, I am more than ready for Chris to be brought back up and show the big boys how to score.

Thursday Morning Cupcheck - Superstars, Schmuperstars

This is a very good article but one correction needs to be made. It is NOT Rex Grossman, it is Nicklas Grossman. I think our "kids" are going to do a great job this year. They all have heart and a tremendous desire to keep this team in the win column.
