We showed up at 9:20 and the place was almost empty and there was no band set up. Very disappointing, I miss watching these guys play.

Read "Freakonomics" for an interesting take on Giuliani and the credit he takes for cleaning up NYC in the 90s.
They actually credit Dinkins for putting more cops on the street. It was something he did to combat the crime issue in the upcoming election against Guiliani who was making crime a big issue of the election.
So I guess, if you buy their theory, indirectly he could be partially responsible for the drop in crime (along with an improving economy and a few other factors).
Like any politician, he probably was taking credit for happy accidents that happened on his watch.

Sadly, we are losing our guitarist/keyboardist Jonathan to the pursuit of higher education.
