Thursday Morning Cupcheck - Grading the 2013 Dallas Stars
Good point Kenneth, but you don't need to tank for years to become good. This unstoppable Blackhawks team is the same roster as the one that barely made the playoffs the last two years. You just need a coach and team leadership who can get every player on the same page.

You guys are serious about Connolly? The guy is one season removed from a year where he put up just under a PPG.

Kings, Ducks fans: if you think this article is the worst piece of garbage you've ever read now, just wait until it turns out to be 100% accurate next April! Of course by then no one will remember your teams anymore.

Thursday Morning Cupcheck - R.I.P. Nashville Predators, 2010-2011
I agree with absolutely everything everyone says here.
The Stars have missed the playoffs three years in a row now. That is a fact, and one that Stars fans like myself raise hell about on a nightly basis, especially when we have to watch yet another postseason without our team playing.
Particularly after more than a decade of winning division titles, President's Trophies and a Stanley Cup.
But this article isn't about the Dallas Stars. It's about the Nashville Predators, and yet another wasted year for the club. Not necessarily because of any lack of individual effort --although there's plenty of blame to throw around in that awful forward corps-- but because of their risk-free, safety-first, harmless-dump-in style of play that ensures boring, ineffective hockey.
Especially when they're playing a paper tiger like Vancouver. If you're not even going to go out and try to win, then please forfeit your playoff seed for someone who will. The Predators have spent six years now being someone else's first-round bye. That they made it to the second round this year speaks volumes about the problems in Anaheim.
Making it worse was the fact that Vancouver played the exact same style of play once they got a 1-goal lead. Truly, those commenters who claimed it was the worst playoff series in decades were 100% correct.
Also, "jokes" are things --they've been around a while now-- some Predators fans might want to look into. You know, before your fanbase becomes one.
