she never washed her hands...even after playing with the dog, putting on the boots and making the dough for the dumplings....then fed it to a couple members of the audience..

Ten Bells Tavern in Bishop Arts opens with "butty" on the menu
Nice folks there..stopped in Saturday after a long motorcycle ride just to check it out..they weren't quite open, but were good enough to cure the thirsty. I'll be back.

Dallas' Klyde Warren Park opens October 27 and 28
I have asked the Deck Park people, people on their board, and several Dallas art journalists, etc about how Dallas artists will be involved in the new park, but no one seems to have an answer. There could be local artists working and selling their art there all the time, which would make it a lively place that reflected just how many talented people we have in the DFW. It is my estimation that things will always be sterile in the Arts District, and local artists will never truly be embraced there. Same as it ever was.

The park could be a thriving and busy place all the time, but it won't be.

Promise of Peace Community Garden in East Dallas in peril
I met Elizabeth Dry when I agreed to do the garden mural for Sanger Elementary. It was a great experience working with her and the children, and it is clear to see she gives a lot of her time and energy to the things she is passionate about. I'm glad that the PoP Garden got some press and generates more interest in the surrounding community. One also hopes that she can move the garden somewhere that costs a lot less than that piece of property, if not for free.

Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge Celebration Party
Trinity River Trust Park Cities ladies probably don't find a problem with the ticket price...I sincerely doubt there will be many folks from West Dallas on the bridge this evening sipping wine, eating canapes and dancing a jig to "The Front Porch Song"...

Actually no...the more voices and perspectives the better..even if some of them come from some rather undesirable bloggers that have a penchant for high douchery.

It is not in Pork Pie's nature to actually give a crap about the drivel he posts...he's like the blogger who lets his barking dog dump all over the Internet and assumes that someone else will clean it up..

Park over Woodall Rodgers is officially named Klyde Warren Park
I guess we're supposed to be happy that this millionaire shelled out all that money for the park...however classless the end result is. This is horrid and terribly disconnected except in one way..$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

UPDATEDx2: Art in action: Shepard Fairey finishes Dallas murals
One assumes the DAC is paying and the art community has been engaged in this discussion about local artists doing the murals, which is supposed to be a part of the bridge grand opening. Most of the discussions get dismissed as people just being haters or jealous of Fairey and locals get a pat on the head.."just work harder..some day you will be recognized by the Dallas art elite.." If his work opens up opportunities for local muralists fine. If there aren't any done by locals near the bridge between now and the festivities, then we'll know it is just business as usual for Dallas. We seem to love imported "culture" more than we do local talent. Time will tell, but I'm not holding my breath.

Walmart going into Whole Foods on Greenville Ave makes one grocery too many
This wasn't predatory behavior from Walmart..it was all the meddling of pork pie, his cronies and the City Council gutting Lower Greenville. One is quite sure that the property owner would have preferred a bowling alley there, but the NIMBY tards put a stop to that as well..all the neighborhood associations have reaped what they have sewn..enjoy!
