PegStaff's Halloween horror movie favorites, part deux -- and film guy's new gourmet picks
This is a fantastic list! I completely agree with Michael Stokes's comments about dread. While the quick scare is fun, the slowly building sense of impending doom and inevitable tragedy is sadly underutilized in modern horror cinema.

Lewisville ISD says only print or broadcast media have right to cover the district
The tagline on this is hilarious! "Um, it's 2009, not 1909" is very fitting for this backwards policy.

Parade of Playhouses decorates NorthPark mall for charity
I would have totally loved the battle tank playhouse when I was a kid. Okay. . . fine, I would still love it! Who wouldn't? :-)

Oh my gosh, this is worse than the SyFy channel. "The Shack" sounds terrible! This is only going to tarnish their reputation, especially with print ads like the one Collin mentioned above.

UPDATED: All of Dallas Morning News' various blogs and sites are down on Friday
Russ, hopefully they have a good IT department that keeps regular backups of their database. Even if they lost everything in the production database, they should be able to restore from a nightly backup that was kept isolated from the production environment. If they did somehow lose everything irretrievably, it would be a sign of an IT department that probably wasn't as prepared as they should be for disaster.

Vast horde of teens apparently loitering around Southlake Town Square
I like the idea of increasing the police presence, but in a friendly way like Momzilla remembered. Like Momzilla said, the more attention the police give the less likely troublemakers are to be there.

Texas attorney general sues Cedar Hill couple over prep school
My gosh, how do people get away with this kind of blatant confidence scheme? Hopefully the Attorney General's lawsuit will stick and they'll be paying for their deceit.

Front yard treehouse in University Park causing issues
Okay, yeah - the real thing is somewhat underwhelming compared to your photo, Alex. It's still sad that they put that much work into it and now they have to take it down, but it's not nearly the tragedy the Tree Taj Mahal would have been...

Wow, that's really more of a tree-mansion. It's a shame that they have to take it down.

Plano dad launches micro-blogging site like Twitter -- with a twist
I like the idea, and it sounds like they're seeing some pretty quick success. I especially like the 255 character limit - I find Twitter's 140-char limit to be rather restrictive sometimes.

Restaurant review: Best Thai in Addison
The spicy soy beef sounds awesome! This really doesn't sound too expensive either. I might have to convince my wife to make a trip there soon. :-)

Icky Twerp's in the lineup for Sunday's Jack E. Jett Show
